How can it be free? You mean I won't even have to be taxed for it? The docs nurses and hospitals are all going pro bono? Awesome, Next I want free food, free cable tv, free house, free car, free gasoline, free sex. free college education to finish up several PHD's including Medical degree, dental degre, and a Masters in business. Then lets talk about free utilities, well hell were the most wealthy country ( Neg 100 trillion) why can't we all just have everything given to us for free. I don't wanna work for anything, gimme gimme gimme.

Well then, how about attending school part time and working full time? Why should your fellow citizens subsidize your desire to attend college full time when you can't afford it?

Not dissing you ... just trying to get you to think.

Well with your vast education you should see the benefit of having someone educated as fast as possible. Even if it is at a small expense to the tax base.

Because in the long run, those loans get paid back, meaning that there is little lost.

And because of the higher wages that college degrees earn you, that means more productivity that helps the country, and also more money into the revenue stream.

I take it everyone in your family went to private schools that do not get any public money right, and never used the federal loans that can be received. That means about what $20k a year for each person. That is great and I am happy for you and yours. But just because you could, doesn't mean that everyone has the tools that you provided for your family.

Nevermind I don't mean to slight you. I respect that your family is very well educated and you shoudl be proud that is fantastic. I just wouldn't begrudge anyone that is working hard trying to get an education, even if they are using anything in their power to do so. Education needs to be the number one priority of our country.

I don't get where all this 'free' talk is coming from. We already have medicare and medicaid. This is a insurance program that the people getting it have to pay for, it may be reduced in price, but that is not free.

We can talk this shit forever & nobody will be satisfied but mess around my space & we will walk down through the shadow of death together.

Yes, says the guy who started working full time when he was twelve years old.

Yes, says the guy who has never taken a government handout or received any unemployment compensation.

Yes, says the guy who paid for his own education.

Yes, says the guy that raised a family that never went hungry.

Yes, says the guy that sent his children all the way through private schools and taught them the blessings of liberty.

Yes, says the guy who's grand daughter will graduate with a Master's Degree in two more years ... with no student loan debt.

Yes says the guy who has worked his ass off all of his life in order to attain a better life for himself and those he is responsible to.

And YES, says the guy that resents like hell those who seek something for nothing at HIS expense. :finger:

Hit a nerve there I guess...lol

So what adverse affects will health care reform have on you monetarily?

If you say its your taxes being raised then I want to see your source.
If you just dont want your tax money spent on it, then tell me what you would rather fund?

I personally think that no one should die because they cannot afford health care, no one should go broke because they get sick, and no one should be turned down for insurance because of a pre-existing condition.

Many reasons why people are against free healthcare. A few are :

1. Most people not taking the time to get facts.

2. Because Obama believes in it and they don't like Obama, so they can't like his ideas

3. Hannity told them not too.

4. Stupidity

5. Scared of something new

6. Because they enjoy paying high prices for insurance.

7. Because they enjoy not being able to go to the doctor

8. Because they don't care about other family members who can't afford insurance/doctor

9. Fox said its bad

10. ?????????????

I don't get it either, yet half of the people here really think it will be free.

It's not about it being free, it's about how it will be paid, think about it....

Not to mention you won't get fast treatment like you do now, you will have to wait even months to have procedures done.
Canada's health care sucks.

Also in the US if you dont have insurance the ER WILL see you regardless of ability to pay, loads of poor and mid class plp go there all the time and never pay shit.
They dont take you to court over the bill unless you have a decent income, trust me I know all about it.
