why no SSL / Security??

after multiple issues this year, I really have to wonder why you still have not implemented SSL encryption on this site? it is cheap and not hard to implement, yet it is not implemented. Considering the content, I would think user security would be a top priority. instead the site is left wide open to hacks from individuals or goverment entities.

what is your reason for NOT securing this site?

We take every precaution to ensure the security of our site. The VBulletin software has some shortcomings, but we are always working to plug the holes, and make certain that it does not happen again.

For our members using the forums, all of the data that you are receiving is public, and you are transmitting only public data, so there is no need for an encrypted tunneling protocol.

PMs are not public data, hense the need for SSL. and a cert is CHEAP compared to the peace of mind you will give to the members.

Do you not think VB stores all this data? SSL would be useless there is a lot other things you could focus on.
