Why no smell ?

Hi Guys, Hoping to find out if I'm doing things wrong. New to this whole organic thing and using a recipe from a thread I read at the beginning of this forum. I've made a batch of compost & one of EWC's tea, basic recipe 1 cup either EWC's or compost, 1/2 tbsp BSM, 1 gal well water bubbled for 30 hours. I've been reading there should be an earthy or sweet smell but I can't smell anything that stands out also I get no bubbles except from the air stones. My air pump is for a 60 gal fish tank, I don't make anything but 1 gal of teas, there are 2 - 6" bar & 2 - 1" barrel air stones, I put the EWC's or compost directly in the bubbling BSM water mixture. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

the ratio is a bit off, for a one gallon brew anyways, but it won't hurt anything.
My aacts never make a lot of froth either
it should resemble the smell of dirt, with a speck of sweetness to it from the bsm.

Grease thanks for your thought. You are 1 of the few people placing advise on here that I trust listening to. Please I'm all ears, if my ratio is off I'd like to know about it.

I appreciate the kind words.
Your ratio isn't "bad" just more compost than normal, it doesn't hurt much.
I can't recall the precise ratio, it's on tim the microbeman's site.
I wanna say it was around 3/4 cup to a tablespoon of molasses, per gallon If I recall correctly.
but like I said, it doesn't hurt anything.
Nothing you are doin Is incorrect.
One thing to make sure is your pump.. an air pump for an aquarium usually is much weaker than the commercial ones you want to agitate the water.
Also making an aact isn't super hard, your way is still supplying the soil with billions of microbes

For a single gallon, I use 75ml of ewc/compost and 1tsp of bsm and bubble it for 48hrs.
