Why isn’t there more talk about ozone water

Found this site, I’m a little skeptical because they are actually selling the product but I’ve read similar testimonials about the uses for ozonized water. The gas form being potentially harmful to plants and figuring out the proper dosage to be safe for plants and people is something the average grower probably shouldn’t waste time trying to figure out. But the safer ozonized water approach seems like a way to enrich hydro water and also can be used to cure a lot of problems we encounter with our grows. I brought a 600mg water unit to try out. Anybody here use ozonized water?

No, but an ozone generator is one of the best little tools I've purchased. After harvest, I vacuum then bleach the room with a pump sprayer. Then I close up the room and let the ozone gen do it's thing for about an hour. Fungus and mold issues are a thing of the past for me now. In high concentrations, it supposedly kills some insects as well.

I brought just the regular generator at first, I’ve ozoned my car, house, and grow space before this cycle I’ve had mold problems in this space before so interested to see how it do. Just brought the one with the hose for water applications. I’m considering taking any males I get from batch of gorilla seeds and putting them in a tent and testing at what point do the ozone start to harm the plant. But I’ll need to get more tools to measure the ozone

I've run ozone in a closed up tent full of plants in veg just before switch to 12/12. Turned off the intake and exhaust, but left the oscillating fans on. The plants were fine. No issues.

As a test, I had a couple of spare plants that I had vegged out to about 2 feet tall. They were extras and I was planning on tossing them anyway. I positioned them directly in front of the ozone exhaust port and turned it on for 20. And by directly in front, I mean that they were practically leaning on the grill that the ozone exhausts from. They were both damaged by it, several fans withered and died - the ones on the side of the plant closest to the ozone gen. I put both plants in my quarantine room and they recovered in about 10 days.

I think I paid like 80 or 90 bucks for it. Cali has strict rules about ozone generators, and we're only allowed to buy little tiny ones. The one I got is a little smaller than a shoebox, but I still had to get it shipped to a friend in Phoenix, who then shipped it to me.

And to clarify my post from earlier, the 4x8 full of plants that I ran ozone with, I only set the timer for about 15 minutes, didn't run it long. When I use it to sterilize rooms between grows, I set the timer for about 45 minutes to an hour.

I suppose it all depends on the strength of the unit. I see some on ebay and Amazon. I'll investigate further. Need one for around a 9 cubic meter area. Should control my bud rot lol

Same.

And a quick safety heads up to anybody reading this thread. Ozone is bad to breathe, but it dissipates quickly. Just as an example, when I'm using it in one of my tents, I turn off exhaust/intake fans, hold my breath, turn it on and set the timer, then close the tent up and let it do it's thing. After about an hour, I go back in(holding my breath) and open up the tent so it can air out. It has this weird, super fresh like after a lightning storm sorta smell. It's safe to go back in after it's aired out for a good 20 to 30 minutes. For safety, I give it an hour to air out. And of course, make sure kids and pets can't get into the area. Kinda the same precautions you'd take with a fogger.

Thank you , you just cut out some test runs for me. 15mins in a 4x8 with a 5000mg unit is pretty intense as far as ozone goes. And the fact it was plants that came in contact with thick ozone is telling. In my basement I’m going to run my ozone 7000mg while my plants are you early flower for an hour once a week. And see how it goes

my plants are in early and I’ve had issues in the past with mold in this space. So I figured go big or go home. I pumped 4 hrs of 7k/mg of ozone on them, space is about 25x15x7. Put the generator higher then the tables left circulation fans on. Plants have some minor leaf curling and burn on some tips. Must be in certain areas where the ozone became more concentrated. Other then that they are perfecting fine. I’m assuming it could’ve even been less damage with I did place over right in front of table. Next I’m going to look for a meter to measure the concentrations

i think i might pick one up what size and models should i be looking at i would most likely only use it in a few 4x4 tents as a trial run and upscale if needed later would be nice if it could do ozonated water aswell

My buddy is a distributor but only for pools. I reached out to him recently and am awaiting a scratch and dent to install in my RDWC
