why is my stem browning where i cut it.

help about a month ago i harvested a plant and wanted to revegg it so i cut the stem shorter and where i cut it, it is browning. does this mean my plant is dieing. yes i am a noob.

...try searching 'reveg' grasshopper, we were all noobs too at one point and i'm here to tell you this is a hobby that requires that you give a shit enough to do some homework.
