Well think about it. A by-product of the light is heat, it's another way of energy transfer.

You should try making a cooltube.

Also place a fan blowing onto the bulb, that should help.

My 400 watter is in a cardboard box, with an 8" hole cut out of the top and a 6" hurricane type fan sucking the hot air from the box. the heat rises to the top of the box and is whisked away!! It costs almost nothing to make. You can paper the inside of the box with Mylar and eliminate the need for a reflector. I would recommend that you get a 600 watt HPS amnd a cool tube; just look it up. That takes all the hot air out; the light bulb is inside a glass tube; one end has a duct taking the air away to the fan. The other can be open, or you can rn it to the top of your co2 unit to pull off excess heat: I do.

My flower room is 6X9 and holds 25 plants and the temps never get over 80, even in the summer.A high cfm, centrifugal fan will pull almost all the heat away.

Where in the hell am I?

CO2 does not make the plant want higher temps. It allows them to grow in spite of higher temps. If you can grow them in optimum temps while keeping a CO2 enriched environment, you will get in increase in growth rate and yield.

remote ballast? get that ballast out of the grow room. that will give you a few degrees there in itself.
