Why I fucking hate the "thug/gangsta" crap

Damn bro.. im sorry about your friend. How is his condition, still in ICU? I feel you on all your anger and resentment.. I do like rap though. I've listened to rock music and different types of metal music about killing people for years, and i've no desire. same with rap, i dont get in to rap songs about shooting people, because i dont condone that shit. I understand your rage.. but open-mindesness needs to be an equal scheme.

Modern music (Rap, Metal, etc.) is mostly sung/performed by untalented people and promoted to unsophisticated young people who haven't a clue about real music. Its trash that reflects the moral decay of modern-day society. In other words, you have been sold a bill of goods by a bunch of bean counters at the record studios. To them, its not about quality or art ... its all about money and the bottom line.

There exists a rich heritage of great music performed by black musicians in this county over the years. If you young folks want to find out who they are, just YouTube the likes of: BB King, Ray Charles, Billy Eckstein, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughn, Pearl Bailey and Ella Fitzgerald.

If you want to see musicians who really cook, YouTube: Charlie Parker, Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, Chu Berry, Earl Bostic, Clifford Brown, Miles Davis, Joe Houston, Big Jay McNeeley ....

Give me a freaking break. It's been too many years since my great grandaddy or anyone elses owned slaves. We have a BLACK president. People need to stop making excuses, playing the victim and go be successful. If you work hard and want it, you can do it.

It's got nothing to do with slavery any longer it's just prejudice and fear. The same shit that limits our options as pot smokers and puts us at risk for felony convictions just supplying our own love of herb.

Young black men are still harassed by some/many cops for no reason, they get busted for once like say the weed we all love, lifes options decrease and it only goes downhill from there. Hell you and I can't get jobs with no busts or problems at all without faking pee tests or stoppping our medicine, we are descriminated against in a similar fasion and the rules of the land makes it a bit harder for us.

Raise the same child in a ghetto environment and middle class and upper and he'd have a good chance of winding up with different lives though regardless of any other factor. Lifes experiences make an impact on us just as our own ambitions do..

One felony conviction for weed and any of you would no longer have a lot of options in life either.

It has nothing to do with rap. I listen to country music sometimes and dont ride horses or live on a farm or even wear cowboy attire. Sometimes I listen to Trance and hardcore but that dont make me a pill popping animal, I dont even like hard drugs. Sometimes I listen to Heavy metal or other alternatives but I dont have long hair and wear spikes or leather... Why is it that you guys criticize rap music. Racist much all of a sudden? Your boy shouldn't have fucked with the wrong dudes. This is life and life is expressed through music and it ain't no joke. Gangsta rap wasn't made for people outside of the hoods but good kids have a tendancy to lean towards things that are not good for them out of wanting to get away from the daily grind. So please, don't complain if he got shot. He shouldn't of been there to begin with.

I doubt a bunch of young guy's out of a concert were silent as night, something had to tick those guys off or it was a case of mistaken identity which is something that has happened to me.

Damn bro,sorry to hear about that.When I was 12,a friend(12 also) & I were going to the park to play football.We were about 6 blocks from geting their.And some dumbass went in front of us,slamed his brakes,aimed & shot at both of us.we never even seen him before.I jumped over a fence soon as I seen his arm go for the center console.My friend wasen't so lucky.He took 2 shots in the chest,1 between his throat & collarbone & 1 in the shoulder.I was about a block or so from them by them time he pulled off n left.

Give me a fucking break. My grandfather and grandmother were brutally murdered by a gang of 6 black men. They raped my grandmother in front of my grandfather and killed them both in cold blood. If that's not oppression of "my people", I don't know what is. So, what I'm getting from some of you is that it is certainly understandable if I want to go out driving and shoot a carload of blacks that just looked at me cross-eyed? Yeah but if history would have been a little easier on the black pop then maybe they would have been a little more civilized right now. I'm not giving them pardon on their actions by any means, I'm just saying that this is the product of a hateful society. They have become aggressive because of the hate that has been put into them by their elder and what the grew up looking at. Like I said, I don't pardon them for their actions but it is what it is... I'm not a bleeder but I see what has happened to them.

Oh, I get it. You're saying that you don't condone those men murdering my Grandparents, but you can understand why.

I think I should be aggressive as well. Not only because of what happened to my Gandparents, but to take it yet another step further. My ancestors even before them were under a Kings rule. They were persecuted, oppressed, and treated like lowlife scum. The slightest show of civil disobedience would cost them their head. You know what they did? They got on a boat and came to America, and made it what it is, the land of the free. They did something about it rather than sit around bitching about "oppression" and boo-hooing to their children.
