Why Grow Autoflower Strains?

Hoping seeds arrive this week. I am growing 60 Day Wonder (fem). White Dwarf Auto(fem) and Auto Oil. 3 of each in 2 gal pots under 600W MH, soil.

It seems clear that autos have come a long way in the past 5,6 yrs and I see no reason to think they wont continue to improve. But with every convenience you give something up. You can't clone them and you don't have as much control over the veg cycle as with photoperiod plants. Automatic transmissions use to be really crude. They now compete with stick shifts in performance. I still prefer stick but it can be hard to find these days.

Lord of winter....Most recent very pleasing herb was world of seeds pakistan ryder...liked it so much, I've now acquired seeds of each of the 4 wos auto strains. Very good genetics IMO....some other top notch autos breeders and strains are, no tin order of fav...just listed as those that have stood out: Sweet Seeds autos...speed devil 2, fast bud,....a very nice and fast phot from sweet seeds is green poison...all good indica doms.
One of my most beautiful plants that had good potency was Lowlife...from seeds of a mixed batch. Short Stuff Auto Assassin.... Joint doctor lowryder strains are great yeilders and good taste....as I mentioned, been doing them for 5 yrs+...have forgotten a few, but surely remembered the good ones....the only one I've actually noted to not grow again is Greenhouse seeds green0matic...buds were good but not as firm under the same lights as all others...
Have fun with'em...they do their thing fast...my tent rotates every month....love my variety....

Do you harvest seeds from your autos? I'm curious as to how they're produced with the auto strains, especially the femmed ones.

I agree with Oldreffer! I live in a small apartment. Space is like gold for me. I have a buddy who grew a Blue Hemilayn in a closet and it is an awsome smoke. Not high yeild but none the less a top rate smoke. I am growing a Blueberry Auto fem and will harvest within the next few weeks. She is being grown in an old phototron. It is doing excellent and from the looks, I should have around an ounce or so. I'm not supplying the universe so the yeild is just right for me and a few other potheads. I'm not bshing anyone, this is my personal take on auto's. I love em', beside, we are all after the same end result whether 1 hit puts you into the couch or 2 hits makes you wanna throw a frisbie...I will post pics of my harvest...Peace Out!

why not buy regs and put on 12-12 from birth
You'd still be looking at nearly 3 months from seed to harvest then, if the seedlings would survive the 12/12 light regimen.

If a reg. plants has not shown it's pre-flowers then it would take longer to actually start to bud.
Whereas a pre-flowered reg. plant would immediately begin to bud, since it is mature and ready.

but you use less electric and get more bud....bigger choice...did you know some strains will start to flower in 3 weeks of 12-12 from seed....i do it with all my plants..use a 400 or 600 hps and pull 2-3 dryoz per plant

No pro here but autos hardly give you squat. Im sure most are a fine smoke but I guess they are considered less bang for your buck. If you want something fast they'll do the trick( add 2-3 weeks on what the strain says from start to finnish). I'd rather just buy a normal strain and grow in bulk.
I have got 95 grams from a Dinafem Fruit Auto in 65 days, She was 40" when done.
Yes they yield... not all autos are dwarfs. This is 2011 not 2008

Check out 215medicineman on utube, and tell me again why it is not a good idea to grow auto's.

I will read through your thread as well to compare, but space and time is the most important for us. using a few more light hours than 12 is of no big price difference at all in these smaller grows for the amount that can be produced.

To each their own, that is why there is so many styles and ways of growing. And now we have a interesting hybrid that has been mixed in for the fun of it all, and alot of people enjoy these smurf sized giant medicine trees:)

personally i dont like auto strains because the yield suffers in the end these are pretty squat guys. i mean the bottom line youre not gonna get more than an ounce per plant on an auto. but ofc there are the benefits to auto in that they can do with less care but wheres the fun in that. prob the best if you need to do a stealth grow. lowryders arent bad.
I averaged 2 1/2 ounces per plant... Your post is highly inaccurate

Yah man, 12/12 from seed works well. I only grow autos in my extra mother/veg space now. I did a full auto grow with the new setup last year cause my photo strains weren't ready to clone yet.
That and I didn't have access to quality cuttings at the time. I personally recommend 12/12 from good fem seeds for peps who don't have room for mother/clones and have limited headroom.
You use less power and they will yield better than any Auto dwarf strain. There is a time and place for autos....

i kind of like autos because its less for me to think about. i do 12/12 on my autos in a bloombox and im always happy with my results. depending on the size of the pot you can get close to 1.5oz per plant. one time i remember i had this weird genetic from bagseed that grew to about 38 inches and gave me almost 3 oz but i dont think thats the norm at all.
