Why does my ph keep going up??? Plz help!

I have used several different kinds of water and tried the liquid ph down and the natural crystals... I get the ph down to 5.5 and the next day I am right back to 7.3!! I am afraid to even cut and put my clones in the machine until i can stabalize that ph to around 5.8. Any ideas on why it keeps going up.

Is there any nutrients in the water if so then this will naturaly raise the ph.I also take it from the info that you have put that you are useing some kind of cloner. If so then chek the whole sytem and clean it with a small amount of bleach water.Make sure that there is no nutrients from past grow's on the side of the tank that holds the nutrients. This can be a cause for ph flux also any pump that you are useing will have a filter on it if this has never been cleaned this can also hold cosantrated nutrients.Try getting a fishpump one with a air stone and tubeing there not nuch to but and put the water that you will be useing into a large tub.Don't ph it at this point just leave it in the tub for 24 hours with the pump on it will give the water time tio settle any.Anything in the water will naturaly evaperate into the air during the resting time then just before you are going to put it into the sytem ph it and it should be fine. But a plant will use certain parts of a nutrient one day to the next some days it ill only take in watrer and not nutrients this will inturn make the ppm go higher. So it is always a good idea to check the ph every other day this is why it is best to get a cf ec ppm meter. This way it is just a matter of adding water or more nutrients plus a simple dip of the meter will give you a ph reading and you can use ph up or down..................................................tyke...................................................................................................................

More water helps, larger amounts are more stable and easier to maintain, I have 50 gallons of water in my res and other than small adjustments every few days I dont have problems. Nutes lower the pH, not raise, so as the plant uses nutes from the water the pH of the water will raise back up.

What kind of system is this?

right on! i think a lot of people have rez's that are way too small. it doesn't take much feeding/drinking for a couple plants to screw with a rez's ph when it's too small.
