Why Does My Basil Keep Flowering On Me?

I'm growing basils but they're like autoflowers... flowering in mid may. no matter how many flowers i pull out they just keep coming more and more.

funny, last year i had a plant that grow 3' tall... and only started flowering in autumn... this year they have hardly grown before flowering.

This is all you can do. I've kept a Genovese going for over 2 years now, it's a great plant.

Just keep trimming, just keep trimming. :)

Its the heat this summer. Basil likes it on the cooler side. I baby mine through for a fall harvest, but summers are to hot in many areas.

You can start seeds every four wks to have the young new leaves you want that way when one goes into flower you just cut sprigs from newer plants
