Why does air circulation and wind make plant stronger?

My plant is outside and for its size its pretty strong. I read that outdoors the breeze helps make it stronger that why indoors have to have a fan. but how does it make it stronger?

Because the gentle breeze on young plants also the stem to become stronger. Think of it as a small work-out for ur young plants.. The bending and swaying back and forth allows the soft tissues to stretch and re-grow stronger like muscles would

haha thanks and im growing outdoors so no fan yay =) and why would you say am i serious if i wasnt why would i post it.....
