why do unground fresh buds give clear/blonde bho?

I have been searching around for this online but can't find the answer.

When I run fresh dried trim/buds I get a lovely blonde product that is smooth, tasty, and gives a long lasting great high.

When I run stuff later on and\or grind it I get a darker colored stuff that doesn't like to wax up, is harsher, and doesn't produce as pleasant of a high.

I can't find why that is...? Is it something to do with less of another compound besides THC getting extracted due to it still being slightly damp? Or conversion to cbd or something? Driving me nuts. Anyone know why specifically?

Older product is broken down more, more degradation and sedative properties. Cbn is formed, delta 9 turned to 8. So besides increasing sedative cannabinoid content overall, thc is lowered and binding affinities reduced. Flavor will evaporate away, lighter esters and things first. Thc is a terpene with a similar vapor pressure and boiling point as other terpenes and can also be lost.

The color and consistency are altered by similar chemical reactions. Heat light and air should be minimized.

The goodies are in the trichomes, grinding plant material doesnt aid this extraction but releases compounds not desired.

I believe its because when you grind it you rupture the plant cells exposing chlorophyll. This makes it darker, and the increased surface area also probably picks up more waxes.

search live extraction

Like everyone says it gets old and degrades.

If you want the best crystal clear yellow, live extraction is the way.
