I need a fast and reliable way to cover up the smell. This coming thursday will be week 3 of flowering, and they're starting to stink up my room. (growing in closet)

I have a fan in there, but when I turn it on, the smell escapes and my dad can smell it. He says i need to clean my room becuase something smells "sour" (which would be my plants)

I dont have the money to go out and purchase the materials for a carbon filter. Is there anything I can do?...like strong air-fresheners or something?

lol yes. word to living with the 'rents and growing the ganj. i'm with you man. anyway you could get a box fan and point it outward in your window. that'd be effective but if ur plants are REAL dank and u live on the first floor ur neighbors'll smell that 'sour' smell too.

Go to a local hydrp shop and look for some odor control gel.Are those plants in the pic 3 weeks into flower? Just curious as they look so small and spacey.Wont be much of anything to really harvest.Light looks like it's barely enough for veg and way to little to flower.Anyways hope it was afun learn even if there is no buds.Maybe get an ionizer

I have 8 plants about the size of your 2 in a space about twice as big. I ventilate it by using two computer type fans and blowing them out from the space (closet) through 2 holes that I cut. I then went to wal-mart and purchased a Honeywell carbon "pre-filter" that they sell for some HEPA air purifiers. The "Pre-filter" cost me just under $10. I then cut off a square of the prefilter and covered the exaust of the ventilation fans blowing in to the room with the squares of the pre-filter. Whala, no smell in the room. Here is a run down of my expenses:

2 4.5" exaust fans: $14.50 off of ebay
1 carbon "pre-filter": $10 at Wal-Mart
1 roll of Duct-tape to tape up the pre-filter: $4.39
Not getting busted for the smell: Priceless

P.S. Also, you can get one of those plug-in air freshners that spray a different smell every few minutes. Those things work great also!

I've heard that one of those plug-in potpourri pots will work. it's supposed to overwhelm the plant smell. ymmv
