Why can’t I use reflectors

Might be, I can not find any over 10W here. I even asked the rep for Ellies a while ago when I found them demoing their LEDs in the coop.

Light distribution isn’t the problem I do 4 plants under the fixture so it covers them ok, it’s the depth of the buds I need to get to.
I was getting nice tops but not much lower, if anything I’d need to lollipop more than I did with hps, but every grow I see with big buds also have reflectors on their cobs.

My thinking is from what I read and the one grow iv done so far, so could be well off and apprieciate you chiming in @CobKits so what would you say I’d need to dim them to? Then I can just adjust up as the plants grow. Thanks

I've been vegging at 25W/sq.ft. in a 3X3 area and it's fine at 18", even thriving. Seedlings could be less wattage. I'm using 9 Citizen 1212s at 1400mA, with reflectors and it's working. They look good. There is more in the engines for flowering, though. I'll try mimicking the natural increase of sunshine. That is, lower at the beginning (sprouts) and increasing gradually until the time to flower, when the plants get all I have. I'll likely use only 300-320W in that space, anyway. I could go to 450 but in my experience, that would be overkill. I don't think the reflectors are your problem.

This has been my experience, just trying to share. There will likely be detractors. I'm no expert at indoor. Take from it what you can use.

I’m starting to think your right and it’s not he problem in this situation but iv not been able to use them since getting them as each time the plants go droopy or look like this just late in flower when I want as much light as I can

got it backwards, most of the light is in the early stages outdoors (spring/early summer) and decreases till flower/harvest..........makes you wonder why people think you need to baby seedlings huh?.............blast them from seed I say!lol

You're in a REFLECTIVE tent, take off the reflectors and train the ladies

I trained before but seemed the light just wasn’t going down where I wanted it,

Tops are all good they just don’t extend down as far as they did with the hps
Are you getting better #s?............................I would try a scrog and lollipop them next run with no reflectors, everything you harvest should be solid

good luck

edit..........also keeping them deficiency free till the end will also help the final product.

That was my first photo run also with leds so was a learning curve done 3 years of Mephisto autos but changing to photos, these baby’s are autos whilst I get the light right with a quick run. Have 5 hso trainwrecks regs germinating to replace them.

And thanks

iv been trying to use reflectors on my CXB3590 3000k 90cri but even at just 30w-35w it just fry’s everything.
I sprouted with 4 304 Samsung boards with 177w between the 4 and then had 6 outer cxb with 115w between each 3.
But, the seedlings have fried edges and that was at 45 inch’s away in a 4x4 tent.

I see lots of people useing reflectors and have zero issues. What’s going on with mine lol?

Thanks
It seems to me two fold. too much light, the roots system may not be getting enough oxygen, or developed enough to sustain the feeding. perhaps back off of the light and watering, and let the plant take a deep breath.

That was before I’m on a new grow now. Without a par meter how can I know what is too much?
My lux meter is ok but no good for what I’m after.

So I’ve taken the reflectors off still have it up high. So I have 6 cxb3590 3000k at 200w and 4 304samsung 3500k boards at 177 between the 4.

Which brings another question. would I be better to run another 3 cobs at 100w or should I ad the driver to the boards and run them at 300w and 200w on the cobs?
