Why aren't you supposed to top autoflowering plants?

It seems the logical reason would be that it's going to grow straight up anyway but even if I took the top off ... would I get MORE stronger collas around the new level of top for the female? Since the middle top is now gone? I don't grow Autoflower and have only seen it done. But I have always been told to never top them ... because I top ... EVERYTHING. lol

So why can't I top an autoflower? Please lend me a little more knowledge ... and any curious readers as well. :)

because autos don't have the time in veg to recover properly as they flower automatically

so in the end you will end up hurting your yield.......

Would they still create larger colas on the remainders since they now have more space and can focus more energy to them?

Autos have a pretty much set life span, from seed to flower. Topping requires recovery time for the plant, which would take away from growing time for the auto.
