Why Are You Here?

You, why do you post here?
I have some new insight on this.

I guess the brain sort of enjoys input and output with things that are not itself. It sort of thrives on it. So I suppose that I post here in order to indulge/exercise my brain.

Frankly, I wonder if I have any control over my brain at all on this sort of basic level. In my own individual situation, I am increasingly deprived of most of my favorite subjects for interaction by either death or geography. So my theory is that my brain is going against my dinosaur brain's better sense and seeking out like minds on a forum like this. It could be a lot worse.

Why do you ask?

Idk, just curious mostly. I read something that was talking about the good and bad implications of having an entirely new way - absent of any actual physical connection - people have developed in order to achieve the same kinds of chemical reactions inside our brains that take place during traditional interactions. I would imagine a place like the internet would be ideal for someone with social anxiety.

Yep. Heisenberg is a great example: he is such an interesting mind and one of the greatest thinkers I've personally known, but admits he suffers from social anxiety which drives him to be quite a recluse. People irl don't get to experience the magic in his head often, but online thousands of us do. Without the internet, this woudn't be possible...
