Why are nutes so costly?

Hello peeps!!!

I'm new here....

Making my 2nd attempt at a DWC grow. 1st didn't go very far due to high water temps. Well I'm in a new location now and all seems to be going well....

Water temp is up and down depending on time of day, 67-71. Room temp is 70-80 at times.

Only prob I've had so far is the bad temper on my 2 girls as I am coming to understand there are alot of complaints out there about the strain I am using "TD"
My bad for tryn to use nutes not formulated for water as I was tryn to save a buck! Just like my kids in real life begging for a new toy, lol... I was forced to spend money on new nutes that apparently seem to be doing the trick and my girls are now thrieving! As they have shown me they are in charge of this grow and I will have to give them what they want.

I currently flush and change my water once a week at the moment. So I hear of many who will let their water stay 2 weeks up to 21 days even. I'm kinda weary about 21 days, tho I think I will try 2 weeks, heck if all seems ok, I just might stretch it to 21 days!

That being said.... Nutes can get expensive!!! I gota try save a buck somehow! For as much as we all spend on nutes, these nute companies are making a killing off of us!

Makes it even harder on a reg joe when a strain has a bad temper and demands a certain "combo" of ingredients. Well this ain't Burger King and we all dont get to have it our way. For as much as I wanted to try this strain "TD" and only cause of all the bad talk surrounding it, I thought I could make it happen with good results! Tho after being forced to spendn way more money than necessary just to make these girls happy, I don't think I will use this strain again if its gonna cost so much just to maintain what they need to thrive.

When I changed nutes, I was using the basic A&B combo, tho the temper on these girls is feirce! I noticed a slight inprovement, tho they were still missing something. Currently, I am now feedn them everything that "H&G" recomends on their feed chart except for their topical spray. I don't mind sparing this expense this 1 time as I want quality! Tho it boggles my mind how some of the nutes I bought da other day can cost up to $100. just for 1litre!!! I just don't get how or why companies can charge so much!!!

Thats my beef, just wanted to vent, lol..... I hate spending money on nutes that SHOULD NOT COST SO DAMN MUCH!!!

if you really want to you can dilute your piss 10-15 parts of water to one part of piss. Actually really good for vegging very high in nitrogen but obviously not everyone likes to do it lol.

alternative would be something like the dyna gro lineup. cheap and one part base.

Once you buy all the additives you are set. H&G is quite expensive out of the gate but you will see why on your first harvest. I have been using it for almost 2 years and I really like it. I switched to a run to waste system and waste almost no water as apposed to dumping a 20 gallon res every 7 days. Not to mention the daily maintenance is now zero. I use 8 gallons a week for 16 plants in hydroton clay.

Much appreciated "dbkick" & "wormdrive66" Looking into other brands is a must! Yet the availability of different brands are not readily available, I will have to research what else is out there and end up having to order online.

As for "millie" What are you 12? Its ok, I feel your pain! Either you didn't get enough love as a child or just as stupid as you make yourself look when you talk shit to a stranger online.... As a matter of fact, online punks make me fall over laughn, lmfao @ your post, it was funny!!! But try me tell dilute my piss in real life son!

Not joking at all man do some research and you will realise that was i said wasnt shit talking but actually factual. A number of people use urine to veg with as it is high in nitrogen and also a whole heap of other minerals good for plant growth. In future do some research before threatening someone over the internet. Calling me stupid for suggesting it has actually just shown your ignorance. Peace brah

I run an expensive nute line with a bunch of expensive additives, a nute order can be $150-250 to keep supplies on hand, but you have to look at it this way, after a full cycle my average nute cost is $1.14 per dried ounce. At $225-250 per ounce thats a damn good return.

Yet I don't grow for profit, I grow to lower my cost on meds, so every dollar saved is an extra dollar in my pocket, just tryn to get by in this expensive economy....

It has nothing to do with profit. It would be the same or a little more for you depending on knowledge and strains, and that is still freaking cheap. $1.20 to grow an ounce of your meds, thats a damn good return.

stop spending money on snake oils. it's a fucking plant. all these cannabis specific nutrients is bullshit just to get money from stupid people. for a complete nutrient line use Dyna-Gro. For soil use jacks!

sorry my vulgarities were not directed at you. there are a lot of astroturfers that come here from AN and other cannabis specific snake oils to try and get people to buy their over priced garbage. No! DG is if you need a complete nutrient! so DG for hydro / DWC / Aeroponics etc. Jacks would be for soil as it does not contain the stuff that is already in the soil. You will not find a higher quality nutrient than DG and it is very inexpensive. Be careful when you first start it though. it's easy to burn your plant so you wanna start at 1/4 or 1/2 strength and then adjust from there. I personally use the full DG line. KLN, Mag-Pro, Grow, Bloom, and Pro-tekt. I swear to you Dyna-Gro will outperform anything. If you find a nute that works better than DG message me and I'll personally pay you back for the DG
