who's NOT voting today; and why

No, it was armed robbery. But it was when he was 18.He's 48 now, and he's only been arrested once since, and no charges were filed.

my point exactly... is he still a threat to society?? i think not... people can make some serious mistake/bad decisions without being a bad person... hell, even murder... i've been arrested once since my first time, and that was for having thc in my piss at the probation office.... im no criminal... except on paper... i know it is late, but your brother should look into getting his charges expunged... as long as that was his only conviction, they should allow it with no problem... as long as he has his money.... this time next year, i will have a clear record again... and i will go get my guns back, and exercise my right (privelege) to vote occasionally; but only because they have been telling me i cant....

Well...as a teenager, he did a lot...but no, he's no longer a threat to society....but the powers that be would think so anyway.

i understand that completely... i am supposedly a "burglar"... yet in over 8yrs of construction that more than half of the time required me in people's houses during the day, mostly without them home; there has never been an issue... cause im not a f'n thief... but i was for 2hrs on ONE day of my late teenage life, with my judgement clouded by xanax, alcohol and a "good friend".... so i am labled as one to the rest of society....

you a vegetarian/vegan????

tricky question...

for the most part i only eat organic natural whole foods.

from time to time i eat meat. i prefer only naturally raised no hormone meat.

i hate milk.

if you invite me over and we have steak, i will eat it no questions. i would also down a 6 pack no questions. there both health risks imo-

i feel it is very important to eat correctly. this is your bodies main source of fuel. everynow and then though don't amount to shit so i'm not tooo strick.

i'm all about the organic stuff cuz, i think were increase chemicals into our everyday lives at a fast pace. i think it will be a struggle to reach old age, in the world today. so i'm trying to minimize the bad stuff...

does that make sense?

you?

Makes sense to me, unfortunately, organic is too expensive on a budget with a family to feed.I love milk. And not 2 percent or skim either.Whole milk.Yum.

basically the same as you.... but i have been back to eating crap lately... i feel the same though... hard to find/afford food that is good and good for you... we went vegetarian for about 2wks straight without any meat.... i like my meat, but i want to start buying it from some of the local people... their cows actually graze like they are supposed to.. none of that grain-fed crap.... in my perfect world, i would raise all of my own animals and grow my own veggies.. but until then i just try to eat as healthy as possible, as much as possible.... in no way am i gonna go extreme though... animals were meant to be eaten and worn, but all of the hormones and antibiotics that are pumped into them have no place in our bodies... just really hard to get around in america.... i plant to be almost entirely self sufficient someday in life, but it is not pheasible right now...

amen to that stoney.... i hate all that watered down moo juice... but they insist on us getting it (got WIC for kid and pregnant wife cause we po:mrgreen:)... been trying to find somewhere nearby that will sell me some fresg milk that has not been pastuerized and homogenized.... pastuerization basically kills off most of the good stuff in milk; and the homogenization breaks up the fat into tiny, artery clogging globules... look it up, you'll be suprised how much bs we have been fed about how good "our" milk is for us... in pure form, yes; but the way you get it at the store nowadays, you might as well not drink it unless you just like it... which i do.. nothing like a huge glass of ice cold whole milk before bed...:blsmoke:

Yeah, I know.I live in Iowa, I could prolly go to the amana colonies and get fresh milk.Wic lets you get whole milk, don't let em tell you any different. You can get whole milk and go half milk and half water for cooking purposes,to conserve...that's what I do.I'd love to be self sufficient too,but I don't think I could slaughter my animals. And I don't live on a farm.I did have a garden this year, and plan to have a better one next year.

Didn't vote because of state-to-state transition combined with a heavy dose of animosity, but I went down to the polling place to watch the show this AM. The line wrapped around the block.

The US is not a democracy. It is a capitalist republic. Your votes DO count, just not in the way most think they do.

They count because they represent the hope that we have as individuals and as a nation. But, because we, as a nation, are polarized right down the middle on so many things, we. as individuals, constantly cancel each other out.

What we need is a global crisis that affects every single one of us, bankers, stoners, rednecks, banker/stoner/rednecks, everyone. Only then will we acheive enough parity, both individually and as a nation to actually break free of these decades of miasma.

Of course, as soon as its over we'll go right back to flinging poop again.

sometimes they do, sometimes they dont... depends on where you go... this months vouchers had 2gal of whole and 4gal 2%... most cashiers dont give a damn, but we always get the anal ones:twisted:..... i could definately slaughter my own animals, i just dont like raising them... i hear you on the garden thing... i went overboard on peppers this year, being my first garden and being a chili-head; but next year i plan to have a tiller so i can commit about an acre to a garden... this year was old school with the ole hoe and shovel... that is hard work; esp. when you have nothing but hardpan to work with...

Why does everyone think there are only two candidates running? There are others. Hey listen, I'm not trying to dictate what anyone does. My point is that the majority of people complain yet do nothing about it. Oh and by the way, your father is entitled to his opinion just as you are. Because you think a certain way doesn't make it THE way.

I voted, but not for Obama or McCain. Now let's smoke a bone.
I know that there are more then two candidates; but that the chances of a third party being elected are fairly slim, even with my vote and yours too. sorry if I was insinuating that you were trying to dictate anything, I was in a rush when I wrote that reply and didn't evaluate what I said. Oh yes, I know he is. I don't think that my way is the way; I do however, in my opinion, think that his way is stupid. My preference is non-religious as to where he a religious freak, it's fine with me but it builds tension between us.
