Hello,

I'm a first time grower and I think I have a possible magnesium deficiency in my plant, thing is I'm not sure what to buy to remedy this. I'm currently a few weeks in veg, just started using BioBizz Grow, it contains only N-P-K. I use about 1-2ml per litre. New leaves are healthy, larger older leaves feel papery grow yellow and slowly die. Leaves are also slightly droopy.

Is this Magnesium? Or am I misdiagnosing?

Many thanks,

OK I am here to get a few ideas on what might be going on with my Tangerine Dream. This is a very Sativa dominant strain and it is in day 50 of flower I have noticed that the older leaves are showing signs of deformation i.e. (leaves are crinkling up at the middle of the leaf) color is healthy they just came through a minor cal/mag deficiency is this maybe a leftover reaction to that or could it be something else? please visit my journal thread to answer or post questions link in sig thanks.

I'm not seeing any mag deficiency. Maybe potassium... maybe burn, maybe a pH issue...

I don't see anything wrong. Try to get a better picture.

Cheers buddy, to be honest I'm a little unclear on the frequency I should be feeding my plants. Insofar I've fed them with every watering, every 2-3 days. I'm not at full strength so believed it would be ok. Should I be alternating? I.e. feed every other watering?

I had a pH problem recently. I didn't have a pH meter for the first couple of weeks of my grow. The water here is about 7.5, so I estimated the amount of pH I should use. I finally received my pH meter last Monday and my runoff read at 5.6! I immediately flushed them at 6.5, runn off is now is a stable 6.2/6.3.

well guys checking back in the cfl's did the job ive growth past 2 days.that cheap little flouro was doing squat they were acting dormant.i have another question for you all.like i said i grow outdoors gorilla style there is this one spot that is perfect thick briars for cover no traffic from people only problem is in the dirt i think dont know what it is though the plants tops will turn purple and stay this way through whole grow it even affects the buds they will bud and look normal size but thier purple and odd looking and there seems to be know resin on them they are not sticky and smell more like just green plant matter.this whole area is like this ive tried many diffrent locations in this set of woods always comes out same way can i fix this in the past people have told me to water with epsom salts i have didnt help but plants where already affected maybe it would work if used before they turned purple.any idea's what causes this

i have a question 4 u have u ever used an bud candy if u have whats the benifits of this additive
I am using it currently in my grow. It adds carbohydrates and magnesium to your system, as well as some other "magic potion snake oil" stuff that results in a considerable increase in resin production. Similar to other products like Botanicare Sweet and Flora Nectar.

18/6 huh alright then thx i will do that.i dont plan on flowering these indoors they are goin outdoors i like to grow outsside im waiting on a order of 90 seeds from nirvana right now that are also goin outdoors i ordered 5 first time just to make sure they arrived.ive been browsing the forum and not seeing any outdoor grow journals with pics.if i can figure out how to attach images i might do one this summer.i plan on trying my hand at cloning this year i got bout 20 fems coming out of the 90.growing inside is appealing though i would love to grow some nice bud like ive seen in here right in my bedroom.
Wow I would love to see that. I wanna do an outside grow myself some time just dont know where. That would be awesome to see so when I try I could possibly have some idea of what I'm doing.

What Kind of pest control are you using? Never use salt from what I understand. Try reading the bible on growing, look for gorilla growing you might get some answers there. from what I understand if you are using pest control you have to watch how much sulfur your putting on your plants when its hot outside. The heat mixed with pest control could effect the trichomes from producing. Im not experience in outdoors but I have read allot on it.

Has anyone found the the mylar on the inside of grow tents isn't reflective enough? I kinda feel as if the 1000w light should be bouncing off every wall and leaving no shadows. But there are shadows on the back sides of the plants away from the light. I could just be paranoid or it could be the fatty i just toked:weed:
It just seems like the reflective rolled up stuff i see in so many ppl's vids seems soo much more reflective, almost mirror like.
 Just pondering. If anyone has any experience, or opinions, please chime in :)

The coating on the inside of the tent has a rough texture to disperse light evenly without hot spots. Atleast thats the theory. It is no better than aluminum foil. That chrome mylar on the roll you are talking about is much better at reflecting light. It is mirror like except for one major difference, it is paper thin. Light must pass through the glass of a mirror twice. It passes through then hits the reflective surface and then bounces back through. Each pass through the glass causes light to lose its energy. That mylar has no glass so all the light energy is totally reflected.

What do most people use for R/O systems to raise Ph? Does everyone use the standard Ph Up? (potassium carbonate/silicate)

Has anyone used Calcite filters for R/O? (calcium carbonate)

My Ph after R/O is 5.9 Thats before adding anything! Just wondering if there was any alternatives to using so much Ph Up.

Not familiar with BioBizz, but I would check that label for dosage though. 1 or 2 ml per litre is what I would feed a clone seedling. After good root development you should be around 15 to 20 ml per litre. Or about a Tablespoon per quart. What is your Ph and TDS?

Shake well before mixing. Always add FloraMicro to
fresh water first and stir well, then add FloraGro and/or
FloraBloom. Never combine FloraMicro with FloraGro or
FloraBloom in undiluted form; doing so may cause
nutrient lockout making some minerals unavailable.

Has anyone read this warning on a label of MICRO Nutrients? Is it recommended to add nutrients* with calcium to your nutrient solution mixture first?

It is because Cation and Anion properties of those nutrients. This is from GreenHouse Grower: It may shed some light on it.

CEC And Buffering
CEC has been used historically to describe the buffering capacity of soil (mainly based on crops grown in field soils). Buffering means the resistance to change in pH or nutrient concentration in the soil solution. Therefore, a medium that is high in CEC would help growers maintain a stable pH or nutrient concentration over time.Media particles, such as soil or peat, have negatively charged "exchange sites" that allow the particles to loosely hold onto positively-charged "cations" (Figure 1). Cations include acid (hydrogen H+), fertilizer cations (e.g. ammonium NH4+, calcium Ca2+, magnesium Mg2+, potassium K+), and other waste cations (e.g. sodium Na+). Media with high CEC have the ability to absorb and release large amounts of cations from the soil solution, which evens out high and low concentrations of nutrients available for plant uptake.

well dougie im almost positve its not pest control ive never had ne other problems like this and ive read the bible actually have a copy somewhere but for pest generally just seven dust them couple times a year liquid spay of white powder form sticks out when they are flying the pot choppers.for animals i used to use fence but this is a dead give away that someones growing in the area if u cant get it out of the woods every year plus i feel it makes it more visible from above now i use liquid fence until they are past the veg stage some reason deer dont seem to bother them when they start flowering

Ok I have a problem with some bugs.... They are very small almost maggot shaped , brown and they seeem to be able to "jump". Now I have used 2 types of Konk spray and also used Soyanora and nothing has worked yet. Btw the damage they do looks like little white spots on the plants any help would be great.
