Why the hell i posted 1997 i will never know 2007!!!!!!!!!!

So i thought it would be fun to see what everyone's first grows looked like good or bad. Here's the first time i took a plant to harvest back in 2007 actually it wasnt too bad considering miracle grow eggshells coffee grinds and any soup i could throw inI had no knowledge of anything didnt change feedings guess i got lucky.
I did have a 400w hps a buddy gave me.

This was early 2010.

My first ever plant.

At harvest

I also kinda had some beginners luck I guess haha.. Believe it or not, those were the biggest yielding plants I've grown too. 6 1/2 zips per plant. The last pic is right before chop and the first two were from a week or two earlier.

My brother has a picture of him, me and a third brother admiring a closet grow of 2 lollipopped plants, circa 1971-72. Old enough? BigSteve.

Nice. I'm not sure what mine yielded, they are still growing, but its a long story as to how they are still around, its good to see that we can always do better by sharing growing experiences :)

damn fng that shit is lovely. I feel the internet age has made it possible for a person with relatively average/above average intelligence & coprehension to do amazing things if they just read. So much info out there at our fingertips not to mention genetics etc.

Thanks urban. Despite having a strong background in plants, this was my first attempt at growing a much more interesting and rewarding species. Look at that . . . it's 4:20 (what are the odds?). The project has been wrought with spider mites, nute/salt toxicity, and lack of funding to accommodate such unexpectedly large plants. Quite frankly, I'm amazed that I have any buds at all.

So we had quite a long list of mistakes our first grow but still made it to harvest. The plants were started about 2 months too late outside. They were planted in a mix of store bought potting soil and dirt from our backyard. The smallest one we named shrimpy, was in the garbage at one point lol, and still yielded a 1/4 oz lol. They had to be brought inside and they flowered under 3 cfl's and 4 t-8 48" flouro's. We reversed there light schedule so the lights were on when we were home at night. They got overfed and developed the nitrogen claw and were shiny dark green right up to chop. The two bigger plants ( I use that term loosely) yielded about a oz each. The smoke was better than the local outdoor stuff. We did end up with a few bananas on 2 of 3 plants. We got a few seeds and used those this year, they are all girls thiis year except one that i've been light stressing and got her to grow some balls.

The one in the coffee can in pic#1 is the plant in pic#3 about 7wks later lol.
