I don't care if a Socialist considers him a Socialist or not. He is for spreading of the wealth, he is for a more powerful government, and a "civilian national security force just as powerful as the military." From my perspective, socialist or not, that's wayyy to big. I wonder what things would have been like with a democratic house and senate.

And no, I'm not going to say Obama has done anything that is necessarily Socialist. He is ideologically in line with Socialism, but with the congress he has had he has been unable to do much (nor, I will agree, has he tried). The point is he has taken huge steps in that direction. Obama has been quoted saying that he supports the spreading of wealth, he used the government to buy 60% stock in GM, he championed a government installation of health insurance (which also requires all citizens to buy with threat of legal ramifications).
To Dan: I don't care if the Republicans supported either. Bush was a puppet to his fascist master Cheney. I hate the republican party and if forced to vote either one (if it were not for Ron Paul) I would more than likely vote D (I can't even stand to listen/watch fox news. I only listen to liberal talk radio if I'm listening to anything political at all).
Government motors was socialist because: Government ownership and administration
Health Care is socialist because: Government interjection into the sale and distribution of insurance services (coupled with the mandate)
Wealth redistribution is socialist because: it claims government has ownership over the wealth of the nation and has the right to ration wealth.
If you still think that none of the above can possibly fall under socialism, here is MW definition
Keep in mind, I don't hate socialism like other conservatives do. Many of my friends could quote me saying that Communism or Socialism is actually good in it's ideological form, but just doesn't work well in practice (like you guys say to Libertarians). That is not my reason for disliking Obama, my reasons are his push against civil liberties and the lies about the war. I will not dislike a President who attempts to enact policies that he truly believes (and intends) will help people of America, whether they are right or not. We need more politicians of this sort from both sides of the political spectrum. Just need someone who cares.
I will finish by answering your hypothetical with hypothetical answers:
Hitler vs Obama - I'd vote Obama, Hitler is a filthy murderer
Bush vs Obama - I'd vote Obama, Bush is a murderer and a puppet to a behind the curtain fascist.
Hitler vs Stalin - shit I'd be dead under Hitler so I guess if I even had a say in the election it would have to go to Stalin, right?

I have no problem with someone who doesn't like my candidate as long as the reasons for that decision are based on the facts and the truth. What burns me is when people vote against their best interests. A buddy liked Cain because the 9-9-9 plan was simple. I told him it would raise his tax total. I guess he really hates doing taxes. So do I but I wont cut my own throat.
Why any person in the one percent would vote for Ron Paul is beyond me.
