White Widow Closet Grow (3rd Grow)

Hello,

Well I have been a long time reader at this forum, but this is my first post. I still consider myself a rookie grower, and this journal is going to cover what is my 3rd grow.

I used white widow seeds for my grow, starting out with 8, 7 of which germinated.

I went from 18/6 to 12/12 at the beginning of week 7. I am now at the beginning of week 8. I waited until week7 to flower since I started from seeds and wanted to wait at least 6 weeks.

3 Femaies, 4 Males. Threw out 2 Males, Kept 2 other Males and moved them to seperate room for pollen collection later on.
(might show pics later)

Aigh...so I am currently creating a veg room, but this grow started from the very beginning in what is now my flowering room.

Grow started on 400watt MH and 4 105watt 30k CFLs. Grow upgraded to 600watt HPS during first week of flowering and CFLs turned off.

C02 also added on a timed cycled based upon cubic footage in grow area. (400watt MH will now be used for new veg room soon to come)

Below are pictures from most of the grow weeks so far.

Open to comments, suggestions, questions, etc..

Still doing well on 3rd Week. This space is only ideal for maybe 4 plants, but I am growing as many as possible from start due to female/male being unknown. It started to get crowded though...

I had to lollipop earlier than i wanted to because a lot of the lower leaves were yellowing and falling off rapidly.

I do not know if I had N deficiency or if it was just too weak of a light at 400watts with all of those plants. The tips of all leaves were white.

I also took a clone of each plant as they were going to go into 12/12 soon. First time cloning.

Sorry no pics for this week.

Leaves continued to turn yellow. I bumped up the nutrients a bit during the final veg week and cut back a couple more spindly lower branches. (unfortunately)

Added 600watt HPS at end of week.

Added C02 at end of week.

Went to 12/12 at end of 6 weeks.

The plants showed their sex rather fast. I think they were eager to begin flowering prior to going to 12/12 anyways.

4 males and 3 females

3 females now only exist in the flowering room and there is much more grow area.

1 female is already taking off rather well.
The other 2 females are smaller, but seem to already be responding well to the new light and c02 additions.

Applying a higher dose of nutrients and adding the more powerful light seems to have fixed the leave yellowing.

I am ashamed that I could not move my main grow light during this grow (something that has been fixed but too late) and the result has been elongated unnecessary growth.

My clones look dismal, but the three females I have left in there are starting to show roots at least. I hope to be able to at least use one as a mother plant, and grow 4 female clones short and fat in future grows.

Blowone - Thanks they started from seed. I am using Advanced Nutrients currently, but I am looking for a more affordable alternative that I can trust in that many experienced growers use, etc...

My roots started out a nice white but have turned a darker color over time. I am using PGPRs in my water, do these cause roots to change color? (Voodoo Juice and Piranha)

Looks good man. I don't know anything about hydro so I can't offer any knowledge, but it looks like you've got things pretty under control!

Pretty much all bud sites formed over the past week and they have just begun to swell. I hope they get very very thick!

Anyone know why my leaves are kinda turned down on the ends? I do have the light only an inch from the top of my plant, but its not hot up there and I dont see any burn marks on the plant.

Light:
Air Cooled 600 Watt HPS (Hortilux
)

Nutes:
Connoisseur A&B
B-52
F-1 Fulvic Acid
Voodoo Juice
Big Bud
Carbo Load
Sweet Leaf

Do you have your fans blowing directly on the plant? The leaves curling down like that may be from too much wind? I was having similar problems and I moved my fans so they blew over the top of my plants instead of on them and it seemed to work.

Thanks JJF. I will try that. I cant get these small little fans to seat any higher at the moment, but I think you might be right as the lower leaves are not curling downards as much. Then again, my leaves on the big plants are yellowing at the top. I do not know if its just how far the nutes have to go or what, but I gave them a real strong dose this weekend so we will see by wednesday.

I will try to get those fans up higher somehow in meantime.
Thanks!
