White spots, yellowing, and the claw!

Hello RUI!

I have a Skunk #11 that is 1 week into flower and there are some funny things going on.

Her bottom leaves have been turning yellow I between the veins. I added some soluble mag and cut those leaves off but the next lowest set are starting to turn now too. So not a Mag deficiency?

Also, the leaves' tips are turned down at 90 degree angles. I've read this can be a sign of N toxicity. I've flushed her twice and this hasn't resolved. Will the tips straighten out once the problem is fixed?

My final and perhaps most worrisome symptom is this morning I noticed some white spots on the edges of lower leaves. They look like water spots but I haven't watered in 3 days. I haven't seen them in my previous grow. They wipe off with a wet towel and it's been pretty cool (60-75 degrees) and I have a little oscillating fan. Has anyone else seen these?

I use FFOF soil. The pH was a little low (5.7) but I fixed it this morning (6.8)
Please let me know what I should do.

What the hell is this white spot?! It's on several lower leaf edges!

Hey buddy, the white spots is white powder mildew' which you can wipe off as you did...however you need to keep the humidity level down a bit & make sure there's good airflow & ventilation as they strive under moisture. Also try to make sure the leaves aren't touching each other as this increases moisture levels. Regarding the yellow & claw, that would suggest over-watering...& perhaps too much nutes...I would only give half the recommended amount of nutes at this stage & enure you don't over-water. Hope this is helful to ya, good luck!

Thank you! I am pretty bummed about the mildew. It doesn't look fluffy like mold but I trimmed some leaves to increase the airflow and I will leave the fan on over night (I usually turn it off).
I have been watering every 4-5 days and even waiting until there are signs that she's too dry before watering so I don't think it's overwatering. I have, however, given nutes with every water (this was pretty dumb of me). When I took her out of the HPS light I could see how dark her leaves were. I hope a good flush and cutting back on the feeding will help.

Will the turned down leaf tips straighten out?

Yes you are overwatering. Should give her enough water to dry out in around 2-3 days...thats why you have to feed her every watering to keep on your schedule..? Give them about hallf the water you have been giving them, that will also cut down on humidity and your PM (spray 2 capfuls of peroxide in a water bottle all around the area and the plants every few days for a cpl wks to ensure airbourne spores are dead). Have you always watered this much? do you have gnats?. Add some more lighting if you can and lots of airflow. Make sure your ph stays in the 6.5-7 range and give half nutes till you can learn to read the fussy sativa;) , they can be fussy

Damn! I thought for sure I was ok on the water! This is my first soil run. I did hydro before. So I have much to learn.
I will water 1/2 as much but about 2x as often with nutes every other time at 1/2 dose.
She could be finicky because I've mainlined her. It took her a while to recover after the last topping. I have a clone that is showing none of these signs and growing like.....well, a weed!
Are sativas generally more fussy than indicas?

Also: will the bent leaf tips straighten out when I get it right?
The leaves will eventually straighten out once the soil dries out a little. When u water you just want a little run off, unless your flushing her. Mine always seemed to get a little yellow a couple weeks into flower until i started using cal/mag. Things look much better now.

Ooohhhhh. I think I was flushing pretty much every time I watered. I put about 35% perlite with the soil so I thought it would drain well.

Thank you.
