Yea. 5.56 is literally one if the smallest caliber centerfire round there is. Its a souped up .22.

Its kind if a shitty round and the only reason its still in use in the military is more politics than the gun itself.

Notice how small the .223 is? Same as 5.56. A .308 or 7.62 is more suited for larger animals or humans.

5.56 is a varmit round.
