white leaves on seedling

hi guys

appreciate your advice on what i can/should do for this little guy.

i think it had mould, or some kind of fungus (stem covered in tiny white 'hairs') when it first came up. you can see the bend in the stem. this is because it was almost dead and i propped it up with a stick. didn't expect it to survive, but it's still here. i wiped off the fungal growth and covered the affected area with soil.

i imagine its not getting the nutes from the ground, as the bit i covered over was near decimated, and i was surprised it survived.

can anyone suggest the best way to look after this plant?

thanks for your help!

just wait and see looks like it may get there. Was it covered and warm while germinating. This may have caused mold.

Hun- I do believe you have a serious pH issue- possibly over-watering too... what is the soil? it may be too acidic... what is the pH of the water you use? Are you feeding it?

Soil is J Arthur Bowers with added John Innes. dunno if that means anything to you, its a brand recommended by a fellow grower here in the uk. it started in a jiffy pellet and i repotted to a small pot after about 4 days. the roots still hadnt come through the bottom, but they had on the 2 others started a couple of days later so dir them all at once. it was shortly after the re potting that the leaves turned white. still only a week old so no feeding yet, but i think John innes is a feed additive.

dont know water pH, but i know it is considered 'soft; water. no limescale. i grew 5 plants last year on the same water.

i think the genetics here are just rubbish. they were pretty cheap, and the ones that have germinated are all pretty lame.
