So this white substance is constant around in my buckets on my water lines and air lines also on the sides of my buckets. I clean this system once a week or every other weak fully with florakleen. I have some ideas what it is but would really outside thoughts on this. Id be glad to answer any questions to help find out what it could be. In the picture below you can see the white ring at water level in my res and also the white buildup down my water pump power cord and its the same for all the lines in the buckets, Thanks Swizz.

Ya dude, it happens, i have extra buckets that i switch out while i clean and scrub mine. Its calcium and salts building up and you cant get rid of it without elbow grease. You want to replace parts after the grows done if you cant clean them.

It's kinda slimy I'd say and on the hoses when I clean some off its Brown but then also the white build up like in the pictures, I completly drain and clean every other week and run florakleen for at least a hour through the system. Is salt buildup something to worry about a lot ?

If your roots are starting to get slimey then yes, worry. If the water smells funky at res changes then worry. If the roots are turning brown then worry. If its just salts your fine but it doesnt sound like it. If your less than a month out and theres no serious signs of root stress then dont worrycbut if it is the dreaded slime then your in trouble, you need a benny tea. Find hiesenburgs thread if thats the case. Otherwise keep the same good house keeping up youve been doing and wait for harvest.
