which type of plant is this

mate it looks like %50 sativa %50 indica genetics. (because the leaves are not fat and not very thin)
at least i am so sure that it is not mostly indica. ( indicas have fat leaves )
it may also be %75 sativa, %25 indica...
and i cant say if it is in flowering stage or vegging phase. because the photo is not clear enough.
just as a guess, i could say i saw sth like it is in flowering stage because of that plant has blooming tops..

if you can see white pistils (hairs) on tops, it means it is in flowering stage.
if you grow it indoor method, use cool white bulbs for 18/6 hours of light shedule
if it is in flowering stage, use warm white ( yellowish ) bulbs for 12/12 hours of light shedule.

i also strongly recommend you to stable the heat between 21-27 C. degree. (70-80 F. i guess)
and before watering, dip your finger 2.5 " to test if the soil is 95 % dry

what he said. no one will ever be able to identify the exact strain from any pics but you can always somewhat estimate the ratio of sativa to indica by looking at the leaves and buds.

It's some sort of hybrid and appears to have started flowering in the last week. Keep it going, in another 7-8 weeks you'll have some smoke on your hands :D
