3-15-0 is aimed for flowering
9-4-1 is aimed at veg.
Get both and use at the right time :-)
alfalfa is good stuff but watch it at first, it actually makes the soil temp go up when its decomposing which can cause root damage if you use to much.
Otherwise its great stuff.

Have you tried to source any of this locally? A good bit of the time, the shipping is more than the cost of the product.:o

Got any Feed & Seed stores? If they don't have alfalfa meal, I'd bet they have 'rabbit food', or 'horse nuggets'. Both of which are just alfalfa meal formed into pellets or nuggets using molasses as a binder.

The fish stuff is good, but not available locally to me. I usually get my amendments in 50lb bags and no way could I afford shipping on that. So, I use bone meal (from porcine sources, so no *mad cow*, just 'pissed off pig'. LOL), rock phosphate, or similar. For N other than the alfalfa, I have soybean meal, or blood meal in a pinch.

There are usually several different ways to get your N-P-K and sometimes you need to get creative, or have very deep pockets.

Hey thanks Wet, you should check amazon, they got some really good deals if you get into their prime membership... I get free 2 day shipping or i pay 3.99 per item for next day air no matter what the weight! I did find a great nursery that carries alot of good stuff but no go on the meals, just blood and bone meals.. Give amazon a try and if you are a college student, you get a free 1 year prime membership account with all the great deals on shipping

I like the premium because of its high N and low K for veg. While your looking at organic fish fertilizers do a quick search on Fish Hydrolystate. Its basically frozen ground up fish. It usually contains the fish oil that the meals lack. Amazon carries a few brands.

Amazon prime is actually a good way around high cost shipping of stuff like this. I may get a membership just for that.
