Which plates for rosin?

the cage would help keep plates straight if you are using a harbor freight press. the press tends to lean after a while but if you keep the press tight it will be fine without the cage. the springs on the press with lift the top plate away so the cage isn't necessary.

these 4x7 plates are what I use. they have individual temp control boxes 2 heating rods per plate. when you first turn them on the temp goes above what you set it at then settles down into place and stay within 3deg of the set point. price is much lower as well.
I set mine at 180
