Which is the best way to setup exhaust/carbon scrubber?...

Ok I was wondering which way would be the best/most beneficial way to hook up the exhaust setup outta my PC grow Case...

A) PC exhaust fan > Duct Hose > Inline Fan > Carbon scrubber

B) PC exhaust Fan > Duct Hose > Scrubber > Inline Fan

C) Take out PC case Fan > Inline fan > Duct Hose > Scrubber

D) Take out PC Fan > Duct Hose > Inline Fan > Scrubber

E) Take out PC Fan > Duct Hose > Scrubber > Inline Fan

If there is a better way that I didn't post please let me know. Thanks in advance and +Rep to whomever helps.

Is there really going to much smell coming from a PC case grow? Just plug in a fabreze freshener or something in there.

but just as an fyi, a case fan will be COMPLETELY useless in a filter set up. Once any resistance is encountered those things push like 10 cfm.

Yea well there is also an inline fan in that equation. And yea there could def. Be a smell. So no pc fan in the setup then? Even so my question still stands for any grow setup.

A full filter for a PC grow application is overkill. All you need is a small piece of activated carbon prefilter (sold near humidifers in most home improvement stores) placed over the fan, and maybe some air freshener of some sort. Or scented candles. Whatever floats your boat ;)

And, regarding your original question, in any setup, the basic flow is one of either:

carbon filter -> heat source (i.e. lights) -> exhaust fan -> outside

intake -> heat source -> exhaust fan -> outside
* scrubber operates independently simply "scrubbing" air in the room interior.

Correct.....just take a section of activated charcoal filter and hang it over the pc fan......it'll take up a lot of odor......

2fans only complicate. i'd say, best is to pull through a filter not push, so it is best to have it pc case>filter>exhaust fan>outside

Ahh got ya, thanks/good to know... +rep to you guys for the help. I will be moving my PC setup to a rubbermaid one this week, it is just more convenient for and gives my girls more room to grow anyway. So that's why I really wanted to know.

Ahhh, my bad with the scrubber thing, a misinterpretation on my part..... So for the rubbermaid grow, your saying it would be best to put it inside the case? like above the lights for example..

I follow what you are saying, but wouldn't not all of the air get filtered? Like wouldn't some of the air just get sucked out/blown out by the fan? or would I have to cap off the fan to create some sort of backpressure? Sorry for my ignorance guys. I've been researching on it, but i keep seeing conflicting thoughts.

Yes. You can make a small scrubber out of a piece of activated carbon prefilter, a 80/90mm computer fan, a rubberband, and an A/C adapter for power.

That should be more than enough for an 18gal rubbermaid or smaller.
