I was looking at those, but I really just need one asap all complete for under 200.... Thats about my budget...... I would definitely be willing to upgrade to that one after one of these 2 wear off..... But in the meanwhile... Which would you all choose?..... If you go to the HGT website, that same combo deal runs at $220 shipped!.... But since it's on ebay, they are trying to compete with eachother, which is a good thing for us :)...... The free shipping is really looking good too....

I'm really leaning more to the second model i listed, as it does have more carbon, and I like the fact that the fan has a leather casing for both a quieter fan, and protection from scratching.... Overall just looks better..... But again... I know that's not the important thing.... I KNOW HGT is a company here to stay, and this other one could of just made a few to make a couple bucks, and go out of business sometime soon or something...

well to eliminate odor you have to have carbon...the filter with the higher surface area always wins.. HTG has half of the activated charcoal and has a smaller diameter...
Go with the second one...
More surface area = WIN not really a choice when you look at it that way!
Just remember when you buy something "for now" your wasting money...
Both of these are on ebay!!!

I agree with the pr0fesseur....bigger filter/better/longer filtration. No two ways about it. Nothing worse than discovering your new fan/filter combo won't cut the mustard with a stinky strain.
And HTG is a great company with competitive pricing.
Gotham ships quickly and provides tracking, and in this case, looks to have the better filter.
The fan? I would hope the leather cover is more for sound attenuation than scratch protection.
That's my 2 cents, and I voted with my wallet..

with the both models you listed be care full if your room gets over about 65% humidity it makes the carbon clump up and youll have to replace it sooner. But if you are able to keep the RH down your good to go.

Yeah, man... I love that place.... I do all my grow shopping there.... Just didnt find a good deal on any fan and filter combo PLUS SHIPPING... TILL NOW!

Look at this screen capture I took from this other hydroponic place that I used to buy from, till I left them for Plantlightinghydroponics..... BUT... they do also have great deals, but sometimes have outrageous shipping, and their service is very poor..... dude would never respond in time, or he would get personal with me..... And one time when I ordered some ducting from him and one of those cheap can fans he emailed me back and told me it was out of stock, and to pick an other fan similar to it.... anyways they had this CAP fan which was 1 dollar cheaper or so, but didnt figure it was a big deal as i saw that it was higher cfm than the original Active air I had ordered..... So, yea I told him to just replace the fan, and to ship asap..... a week later my order gets to my house... I'm all excited, as I was dealing with alot of heat in my tent to begin with..... Open up the box..... No Fan.... As soon as I am about to call I get an email (i get them on my phone).... and it's him giving me my tracking # for the fan he had JUST shipped...... anyways, I return the email, and I tell him why he didnt ship my fan out the week before... and he says because it was not in stock at his location so he had to order them in..... and I'm like.... "The only reason I agreed to switch fans was because you told me the other one was out of stock, which made me assume that the other one WAS in stock...... I was so pissed, and nothing I could do.... I was like Just give me a refund!... and he said he couldnt because he already shipped it out.... and I was like That's your problem, you should of told me it wasnt available, so i would of gone elsewhere! ..... And I think just to rub it in my face, he said...... "You can return it, but there is going to be a 20% restocking fee, and I would have to provide the shipping funds, Plus he wouldnt refund what I paid for shipping.."...... Was he kidding me?... Wanting me to pay for a mistake HE made!.. I just never went back..... screw him!

BUT.... I still use his ass....lol...... As the better deals he carries, Plantlightinghydroponics Will MATCH ANY PRICE.... EVEN IF THEIR SHIPPING IS LOWER.... Just email them...

I still want some more imput..... So far only 1 person has recommended these organic filters.... But they do seem more convenient, but who knows if they really work as well, or really last.... Any other of you using the organic filters or know of people who use them?.... So far I have really not seen alot of people using them around youtube... Mostly everyone has those big ones.... HMMMM...... Plus it sucks that you cant just stand them up on the floor with the fan on top..... Wonder how much a strap or how I am gonna use this in a tent.... hmm

Now the question is..... Valueline Inline Fan or Active Air Inline...... They are both the same price at plantlighthydroponics, but valueline has 35 extra CFM's but i doubt they really matter.... Plus, yes Valueline is more attractive Black in color, which would match perfectly with the filter..... Active Air fan is Ugly green..lol But I think it's the more well built product...... That same site with the cheaper prices I wanted matched Has the 6 Inch Active Air fans for 120$..... Plantlighthydro Has them for $80...... Thats a big margin

And shipping is actually $5 less if I go with the active air and the filter than going with the Valueline one.... Hmmm..

active air is baller whats ugly about green matches most my plants!
lol.... Do you own an Active Air?..... I'm starting to think how noisy they might be.... I already have a fan controller for it when i get one.... But now.... Thinking about getting the 4 inch organic filter, and a 6 inch inline.... Most likely the Active Air... and Just buy a 10 dollar 6 to 4 adapter..... The 4in filter max cfm is 513 anyways... and both the 6in inlines are between 400-435..

4 inch filter is 54$
6 inch filter is 89$

$35 dollar difference, and right now I am trying to save as much as I can........ I doubt I'm gonna be running the fan at over Half the power anyways, So I'll probably be running it at like 250 CFM....

I cant even find youtube vids on these organic filters..... Makes me think nobody really uses them..... Thank god it was sunday, so I didnt have to order... Or maybe I would of already have ordered that organic one...... wonder how long they last, and having to wash them every month seems to be a hastle... Dont know.... If I see of more people recommending them, then maybe I'll get one, but right now, I think I'm back to step 1, or buying the "old school" trusty filters.... Hmmm...

search "deau passe" Well you seem to be missing the point. Deau passe filters have been used for years now.... just because it says wash every month washing is reuseable! and reuseable means longer life more $$$ in your pocket. deau passe has the highest cfm therefore it reduces the bar pressure required to pull air through it. more efficient. these filters attach directly to your hood!
This has already been discussed in full here!

What will I do?...lol.... I will let you know later on... I am for sure ordering today before noon...... Any last min help? :/.... I slept on it, and still not sure...... I think i'm back on the organic, just to buy everything at one place, and have it here by a trusted website that I buy from all the time...

Right now It's just like a 5x5 closet I want to deodorize..... It's all in my room, which is alot bigger, and I have plants vegging outside the closet also....... Basically, I have a small 3x2x6 tent inside a 5x5x10 closet.... and I also veg plants outside of that tent by opening it during lights on, and letting the vegging plants get light, and when the lights are off, I zip up the tent, and just put a lil 150w hps over the vegging plants OUTSIDE of the tent, But still inside of the 5x5 closet...... I also Do cloning and small pre vegging in a small little clear propagation tent 2Wx1Dx4H outside of the closet, but that doesnt smell much........ Oh, and that 5x5 closet, doesnt have a door...... Yet... But, yea........... I really didnt think it would smell up the whole house, or else I would of waited.... You kinda get used to the smell, but when someone comes from somewhere else, they notice the stench right away...lol.. My bro has these nurses that come by about once a month to check up on him, since he is currently bed bound, as he is dealing with a minor bed sore that he got a while back in physical therapy.... He is paralyzed from the chest down, after some freak accident 8 years ago.... anyways.. He's cool and all, and I'm actually doing this for him, as he is in alot of pain most of the time, and gets alot of spasms on his back and legs which from what I see in him are extremely painful... He's cool... He doesnt like to complain much, but I just know he's alot happier with his meds.. :).... and if he's happy... I'm happy...... anyways... He's all across the house from where I grow, and when the nurse comes over, I would just zip up my tent hours before she is gonna come over, and throw a blanket over it....lol... (lights off, of course).... and I really didnt smell anything, but when the nurse left and all, My bro called me over, and he said the nurse asked him if we grew basil... Because It smelled just the way it did when her grandma would grow basil....... SAGE!!!....LOL....It is said that the SAGE strain smells alot like other wild plants, and not much like typical cannabis.... This is true, but I would of never thought It would smell at all 40ft across the house, through walls like 5 layers of wall..... We do have central air, but didnt think it would travel over there, since the vent in my room is just blowing air in, and I dont have an exhaust anywhere, but the one on my cool tube, but that one is leading outside..... Time for a filter.... I do live out in the country, so didnt think I would need one, and Thought I would just deal with the smell, but, nah.... Cant risk it especially right now that my bro is going through healing, and the air particles from the plants may not be good for us and him especially, as they found a minor infection to his sore, but as I hear from his caregiver..(his girlfriend...lol)... She has been doing everything possible to keep it clean, and exactly what the dr ordered........ It's only a stage 2 sore, which means it just broke the skin's surface, and it's not even that deep at all, but they're a bitch to take care of since it's right on his ass, and I love the dude, but he's stubborn... He's getting better slowly, but they recommended he stay on his sides, and to not sit for more than 20 mins at a time, just to eat and that, but, I understand how hard that must be.... He loves playing video games in my room, so he'll hop on his chair.... I know he shouldnt, but ...... anyways.... Might as well write a book on our life story.... I'll just shh....lol

We were talking about filters, right?...lol

Ok, so I ended up getting the Active Air 400 CFM Inline, and the Organic 6in.... Fuck it, I'm gonna give it a try, and If i dont like it..... I'm gonna be all over someone's ass!....lol... jk..... It should work better than what I have going now :P....

Thanks alot, guys!
