when will they first need light?

i know it needs be dark for germing and when i put it in the soil should it have light too or put light on it once it sprouts?

I stick my seeds(when I grow seeds) right into the pot its going to grow in and in about two-five days I kick the light on cycling it for veg. I just feel that after a few days under ground it starts to "hatch" then it feels the warmth of the light and goes toward it.

Hey what works for me, i germinize my seeds in a dark place and when the root comes out the seed,i put em on the soil. Then what i do is give them light but,when they sprout dont put them too close, beacuse they can die beacuse it will be to hot,put them like a few inches like 6 when they seedlings.
