Ok well I grow in soil and for the last year I have been watering right before the light go out because I read somewhere that its better because the plants can recovery from a lil water shock while there not doing as much growing while the lights are off or something, I can't remember.

Recently I was told by a veteran grower that I shouldnt water before the lights go out, he didn't give a clear reason why tho, except that it does increase your chances of nats and insects which I understand

I was hoping someone might be able to help me decide and give some advise!!
Should I go back to watering in the morning or does it really matter??

THANKS:lol:

I water about an hour after the lights come on. Reason why is, that just what I do. No science.

Works for me:eyesmoke:

you should water right as the lights are coming on basically. watering before lights off will increase the possibility of mold, mildew, and humidity issues. plus, plants drink the majority of their water when the lights are on so why not give them those freshly mixed nutes and let them drink up for 12 hours. :bigjoint:

It's ok to vary watering patterns with soil because soil acts as a buffer. Just try not to regularly leave the soil visibly soaked when the lights go out.

I water when the lights come on. If i think they are to dry to make it through the night I give em a splash before lights out.

Water as soon as the lights come on. Plants need all 3 to grow -- water, nutes and light. Why would you hold the water
when the other elements for growth are present? I got this info from Jorge Cervantes, my guru.
