When to use Boveda Packs?

I bought the Boveda 62 packs to use for curing. Are you supposed to use them immediately, or after the first week or two?
For the first week of curing, is it okay to have the humidity within the jar between 65-69% and then drop it to 62 with the Boveda packs on week two? Or should the Boveda packs be used right from day 1 of the cure.
Thanks

Heres a nice vid.

What at you want to do ideally, is to get the water content as close to 62% as possible. (Better to be a bit over, than under. You can remove water easily. You can't add water back) when you're within a few percent, place the boveda pack in the jar. Typically you will want to do it right after drying, but if you want to, you can add it Later on.

Hope this helps. Happy curing.

I'm sure there will be many different opinions on what works here. I've got some flowers going on 6 mo. cure, all I did with that harvest was dry for 4-5 days then jarred with 62 boveda. Jars would burp like every 2-3 weeks, and the flowers are excellent looking/smelling still.

Well, when you reach the 'cure zone,' you don't need to burp it very often at all. You want to continue to burp them until it has no condensation.

I've never used the boveda packs, but burping isn't done just to lower the humidity. It's also to to get fresh air. Oxygen is needed for any of the remaining sugars/starches in the plant to burn in respiration, and that produces CO2. After a while in the jars, this no longer matters.

I wouldn't worry about putting it in the jars too late. Weed isn't really "ruined" by hang drying too long, but it is ruined by jarring too early. Most people have a RH of between 40-60% in their house which isn't going to "ruin" weed over any amount of time.

Being in a jar allows the buds to "sweat", so the moisture from the stems is wicked out to the crispy outsides, making the moisture content more even. It also keeps the terpenes in causing your bud to smell stronger.

Everywhere I've read says not to overdry your buds, so I'm kind of scared to leave them on the drying rack for too long.
I gave the buds 5 days to dry in a dark room @ 65-69 degrees and 55-63% humidity. They're crisp but still a little soft on the inside so I put them in the jars with a Boveda pack.
Right now, the humidity in the jar is stable at 66%. I guess the Boveda pack won't make it 62% unless the bud is a bit drier?

It's really easy to over-think this. There are a few known ways to ruin freshly harvested weed. Jarring too early is one of them. Jarring too late is totally subjective. There are a few people here who insist a cure doesn't do anything and that the dry is what's important, and that their customers don't notice the difference.

Exactly, I have followed this and it has never failed.
