when to tell sex..

I have 4 plants I've had in flowering for 9 days now, shouldn't I be able to tell the sex around this time or much later? I heard 5-7 days but Idk... one plant is very tall. I've topped an lst all of them, I'm only assuming the tall one OS a male because they grow taller to pollinate smaller females... somone plz help?

Pictures would help, and I don't know how much help you'll get with a name like that lol. I'm pretty nooby so I couldn't tell what the sex was until about 2 days ago which was like 2 weeks into flowering. I'm still not quite sure if I have a male or not lol. But yea post pics, your vague description isn't going to help anyone

Not true on the height part, I don't think.
The males I've heard do tend to grow a little faster than the females in the early days, but posting pics would really help.
4 out of 4 that I've recently sprouted from bagseed were all females, and there were things that I noticed on all of them all, though it was too early for preflowers or anything.

Hey juggalo33x typically once put into 12\12 you should be able to tell sex anywhere from 7-14 days. This is strain dependent of course. I have seen Cinderella99 show sexual preflowers after 6 weeks of veg still in 18/6 light cycle. So i say give it a few more days and it will show. If you have the option to and it turns out to be female taking a clone of her might be a good idea.

yes, my 2 C'99 started showing pre flowers about 1 day earlier than my blueberry bubble gum. All 4 girls have shown pre-flowers about 5 to 6 weeks into veg. I did have 2 bag seed prior and one shown about 5 weeks into veg, while the other took about 7 days once I flipped to 12/12. I am sure that the bag seeds, being that they were both about 4 years old, were almost to the point that they were not going to germ anymore.

haha anyways I'm gonna post pics after 8, they're sleeping right now lol. I haven't seen anything at the nodes yet, although there are new branches popping out in-between which I know come first. I do know what male an female look like and how to spot just thought it was sooner. could be that their a random breed that are late, they are bag seed

I've also found that the longer the plant was in veg, the faster the sex shows. So if you're flipping a young plant, it might take longer. I recently flipped two plants -- same strain, one with 6 weeks veg and one with 5 weeks veg. The 6-week old showed in 6 days; the 5-week old showed in 9.
