When to switch to Flower and Lateral Growth

I have some plants right now that are 30" tall in soil. If I flower them now how tall will they get by the time they are done flowering?

They will grow x 1.5 - 3 when they are put into flower. Mostly I find they grow double or less when I put mine to flower. You need to be the judge of how much space is available to you and flower when you feel they're big enough for you.

Flowering is always determined by height restrictions and lighting capabilities (light penetration).. I'm indoors so I like to bloom early and keep the plants under control (SOG/Cola grows).. Almost clone to bloom (under a foot tall, usually 8"-10" tall with a good root base).

I have room for 6 1/2 foot tall plants. I would like to get some lateral growth on them before I start to flower any suggestions on how i can achieve this?

yep usually 2/3 times the height but depends. If it is a sativa domin. those can be tall and indica are more bush and short 2-3 ft. look at the leaves if its a hybrid, skinny leaves sativa and fat thick leaves indica. If height is a issue maybe LSTin it or scrog it by placing a screen over it and as you s/w to flower and it stretches you can lolli pop the bud sites as it grows. have fun with it man:bigjoint:

This would all depend on how well they were taken care of and what kind of conditions the plant has to grow in.

To flower I will be using a 1000w HPS. The strains that I have are Purple Mojo, Channel and a SSH the ssh is LST'd.

My clones that are put right in after they're rooted grow between 2-5 feet, depending on the strain and how well the roots have formed. You can expect a minimum of 2 feet in growth to 5 feet in growth by the time they're done flowering. I run different strains than you and my strains all perform differently. The skunk never gets as big as the orange bud and the rhinos somewhere in between. I find that my blueberry and my orange bud get the biggest but I prefer the skunk and the rhino. I have three other strains as well but I don't run them very often but it's nice for a change.
