when to pull sum fan leaves

Hi guys n gals in riu land and beyond i have a simple question to ask you all,

When would you remove fan leaves that are blocking light in the flower stage ?

Before everyone starts telling me of the importance of fan leaves ano how important they are am just asking to see who pulls and when lol:weed:

i think i pluck a few fan leaves off every time i step into my garden.

hopefully my posting this link won't upset anyone but here is a discussion on the topic and how to use defoliation to actually INCREASE your yields that has been going on for over 2 years now and is filled with useful information.

Defoliation: Hi-Yield Technique?

Personally, I don't at the present time, but I'm always willing to try something ONCE.
that's why i like to post links, not because i'm too lazy to answer but because i think people benefit more if they do the research on their own, ...all i do is point folks in the right direction, ...and by that i mean the direction where the answers can be found.

i defoliate only what is blocking somewhat decent nodes that have potential. if you look at the leaf and follow it to where is goes into a bigger stem you will see a budsite directly above the fan leaf, this fan leaf is producing food for that budsite (and others)

by plucking that leaf off your making the plant work harder to get food to that particualr site....just my theory, like i said i do pluck them now and again but try not to make a habbit out of it.

Personal preference really here. There are threads that go on and on about this topic.

However one thing stems for certain, less leaves = less locations for bugs. I don't strip clean by any means, but as Retiredmatthebrute said to allocate light better and to prevent pests (less leaves and able to see into my plant more).

I wait after stretch so nothing gets stunted. Also take just a few every few days not all at once because of the stunting.

All fans that are pretty yellow get removed. I figure they are not doing much if they are not green and healthy looking.

Keep em green with as much foliage as possible right thru until harvest day. By the looks of the first page of the link provided I would say Super cropping has much more to do with his success rather than plucking healthy, productive leaves which provide energy to the plant to grow big buds.

I've tried trimming some at the start of flower. Also, have trimmed some the last few weeks of flower. My latest harvest which was yesterday I left all of them on. The buds were much bigger and denser not trimming any. It may be strain specific but, I won't trim any again at least with kush plants. People say trimming helps the lower buds get bigger. I saw none of that. Here's a few pics of my recent harvest trimming no leaves except for yellow dying ones.
