When to move from CFLs to HIDs?

Hey guys,

I'm in a dilemma. I'll give you the quick break down and appreciate your opinions! I'm on my first grown and decided to go the soil route. I chose an autoflower and am coming up on my second week. She is very healthy and happy under a 300w CFL 24-0. I'm kind of ashamed to say that I didn't do too much research when it came to starting off and told my boyfriend to pick me up a bag a potting soil at Wally World. I had it in a 1 gal pot and recently transferred her to a 5 gallon pot. No apparent shock.

When would be a good time to move her under a 1K MH (6in air cooled hood) in a 4x4 grow tent? I've been reading different things from everyone and am too nervous that I'm going to mess up my baby!

Two weeks is more than old enough to go in the tent.

I am not sure how or whether transplants affects autos though...

It should be fine.

Good luck,

Also keep in mind, a plant will be roughly as big on top as it has room to grow roots in the soil/resevoir. And also your plants will double in size when you decide to flower them. So a good gauge is looking at their relative size, to the size of your pot, and determining whether they have enough room to double in size still. Also switching lights and to a tent will definitely not shock your girls. My first grow ever I went from a closet to a tent mid grow, and it all turned out fine. If you want to learn some of the basics easily, go watch Jorge Cervantes ultimate grow dvd's which are on youtube to watch, and use that knowledge to correlate to any marijuana horticultural book you have. Best of luck with your grow!
