When To Harvest A Male Plant For Cannabutter?

I have a male plant that I have moved outdoors away from my females. It's about 18" and none of the pollen balls have opened yet. I have made butter and smoked male plants before so I know that I will get some thc from it but is there a better time to harvest it? Before or after the pollen releases? Thanks

Think of it this way, if your female plants take 8 weeks to reach maturity, but you pull and smoke at 4 weeks... will it be just as strong as growing it for 8 weeks?

It's the same for males.

honestly, male plants have such a low THC content I wouldn't even bother.
This is true. That's why people with bigger crops that "weed" (haha) out upto 10-15 males make butter with them. But no one said you shouldn't try it with one...
