when switching to flowering...

my normal schedule was 9am-3am while i was vegging. (18/6)

today at 10am the lights were on for 1 hour and i remembered i was going to switch to flowering today.

since i want to take advantage of the cooler night temps, i decided to switch to
11pm - 11am. so i set my timers for such.

will the 1 hour of light i gave them today be a problem?
also, when it is "nighttime" (11am-11pm for me) , i understand that you should not get any light in there, but is it okay to pop the lid open and check on the temps and such or is it IMPERATIVE that i wait until the lights are on?

No problems will be caused.just switch to 12/12 when it suits you and its best not to disturb the plants when they are sleeping (darkness) but a small check once (lights on) wont do any harm.just dont make it a regular occurence.

i figure i'll play it safe and not check until the lights are on.
my biggest concern would be the leafs being too close to the light, but with the lights being off, it's not an issue.

thats best but when the lights are off the plant will stretch more than when the lights are on so its a good idea to raise the lights before lights out time so when you switch them back on the light will be at the right height as the plant will have stretched during its dark period due to SARP.

that should be an issue if the plants are healthy.
I sometimes give a day of straight dark period and then put them on 12\12.
Its messing with their brains and they forget they used to get a veg light cycle or something like that.
It DOES stress the plants to some extent so it should be done only with healthy plants.
