Hello

I'm on my first grow here and my plant is really starting to take off. I plan on transplanting to a 5 gallon bucket that I already have ready to go with the drainage holes drilled. I am using Fox Farm Ocean Forest and I am growing with CFLs. Currently, I am using 2 6500K bulbs over the plant but I feel like its starting to need more. I Have it in a solo cup right now and I dont know when she needs to be transplanted. I have a feeling shes starting to out grow the solo cup so I was looking for advice from anyone thats had some experience. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! Oh and the strain i'm currently growing is Lemon Kush from Herbies

I usually transplant when I have to start watering more frequently, like every 2-3 days. I know the cup is filled with roots at that point.

Looking good. I like to leave the seedlings in their small cups until they are twice as tall as the cup is wide. The seedling thinks it has expended enough energy on growing roots to support itself in the cup and has started growing greenery. Welcome to veg state.

Good luck, BigSteve.

Good advice above. What you want is a good root ball before you transplant. I would go to a 1 gal pot before the 5er. Same thing. Get a good root ball in the 1 gal pots before. That way...the growth above soil wont stall much. If you transplant too soon into too big of pots the plant will spend more time growingnroots than leaves. No big deal. It all balances out after a while. It just takes a little more time. Trust me...i was the kingnof transplanting too soon into big pots...lol

Plus...you have less chance of doing damage with overwatering...
