I just topped 2 of my plants and want to keep the topped bits and make clones.. So i shaved off a little from the end and dipped it in rooting formula.. Should i plant it and put it in a dark place for then roots to start or do i put it under the light... - cheers

yup. they need light to photosynthesize. no light = no growth. rooting in soil is not as good as rooting in a cloner. it takes twice as long. or at least it did when i did it.

is it true that a cutting survives off of the nutrients stored in the leaves until it can establish its own root system , i have to wonder if putting cuttings in an extended dark period would make them start to try and flower causing them to eat up their stored nutes faster than they should. im just a noob though so ........
however i have heard of people doing it , that doesnt make it right , but i dont know myself.
