When is the best time?

Alright, super amateur here. If I'm in the wrong section, can a mod move this to the appropriate thread?

Ok, I planted this little fella about 2 or 3 months ago from a seed from some green I acquired and I really do not know what to do now. Can someone just give me some pointers as to what to do? I've just been growing it on my windowsill and just feeding her water. I'm not being very scientific about it so what should I do?

Well to answer your first question this is probably a post for the "indoor growing" forum and I think you'd have to start a new thread to move it. Anyway with that being said your plant looks a little over watered. She's a tiny girl but besides the overwatering she looks fine. How long has she been flowering? Also how many hours of sun are there in your area right now? Also if she's indoors make sure she's getting no extra light at night as this will cause reveg. If you're really interested in growing I would do a lil research on this site and start a small op. You'd be surprised how much bud you can yield in a 2'x2' space. No offense but by the looks of your plant you'll prob yield like .3 grams. Btw she also looks like she could a lot more light so if you can find a sunnier spot or supplement with other lighting (preferably something around 2500K) I think she'd love it. Good Luck! hope this helps :bigjoint:

We need alot more info. What is your light schedule? I assume you went 12/12 from seeds. They are definitely suffering from lack of light.

For a first attempt without any research or knowledge you are doing fine to see some budding. But its far from what you want to do. I would personally read some of the grow logs or even a quick and easy "how to grow marijuana".

Generally people will veg (18 hours of light on, 6 hours of light off) for a month and some even go as long as 2 months. Then they switch over to 12/12 light cycle (12 hours on, 12 hours off) to initiate flowering cycle. Most plants go around 2 months in flowering (give or take a few weeks).

At this point I would say you have 3-4 weeks left and you will end up with about 1/2 a quarter ounce (if you are lucky) for all your hard work and love and care.

No matter how it turns out its going to be a good learning experience.

Ever since I germinated my seed, it's been in that plot on my windowsill receiving whatever light the sun gave me on my side of my apartment. It's the sunniest side of our building so I got lucky with the placement. It's getting sun from about 7 to 6. I had to go home for christmas for about a month but I came back up after two weeks to check on it. I'm sure I made a rookie mistake by overwatering it before I left because I couldn't take it home with me. I have a 2.5 fl oz cup that I usually water it with. I really didn't even look at any kind of guide when I started to grow it. It really started as an experiment to even see if it would grow and I'm quite surprised with it's result. What do you guys think I should do to help the little girl flourish in this last month or so of growing?

tbh ther's not a great deal you could do without having a proper light for it it probley isnt warm enough being near a window?
nor is it getting the right amount of light do you leave the water over night? if not leave it over night befor watering or boil a kettle and let the water cool down and
use that because it will get rid of a lot of the bad things in it if you did not know also id re-pot her the compost will add some new nutes :)

Chalk this up to a learning experience. Just make sure no light other than sunlight touches her. Lets see you could put her in a shoe box & press it against the window so when the sun goes down your house lights don't affect her bud production. Just isolate her like i said and let nature finish up that little bud.

and If you are interested in doing better do some reading. There are just to many things and varibales to awnser your question completely . Know that you will have to invest some money into this if you want to do it for real. You should look up CFL growing it is the cheapest option for beginners

Main things are

Light cycles
Watering schedulers
Types of lights
Light tight grow space to induce flowering
ect

The honest answer is this - if you want to grow marijuana, there is a ton of help available here BUT you need to decide (or not) to be a little more serious. Actually a lot more serious. It's a great hobby! A lot of us laugh at the idea of being addicted to weed, but freely admit we are addicted to growing it. And there are a lot of level on which one can grow, from commercial growing to medical growing to personal use growing. But even the guy who just wants a few ounces for himself has to do some basic things right, do some learning up front (and be willing to continue learning), and make a financial investment.

You can go ahead and try to give your little plant more light (cfls) and feed it, but there is probably no way it will really flower and if it does it might be a gram. But don't let that discourage you. Try again and have a plan. You could do it with an investment of as little as a couple hundred. Under a thousand will get you a good closet system able to produce a half pound to a pound per grow. But I warned you - it's addictive!

Alright, here's two more pictures of this little girl. I've got some shoeboxes so I thought about letting her sit in the box for the rest of her time. Is there anything that I could do for her in these final weeks? Foil in the box? Some special type of water? I think I have a decent idea about when to harvest, but I'm sure it's not time. What do you guys think I should do here?

It's been a week and she looks about the same. I put her in a box on the windowsill with some foil and the little white hairs are getting longer and some are starting to turn brown towards the bottom of the cluster of buds. Is it almost time?

Alright, I haven't gotten any responses in a few weeks now and I'm to a point where I don't want to kill my plant but I don't know what to do with her. Here's a picture as of right now. I'm going back to my home (about 2 1/2 hours away and will be there until sunday) so I need to know if it's time to harvest now or what exactly I need to do. Thanks... bump.
