When is a Seedling not a Seedling?

Hello All,

Quick question. My seeds germinated about a week ago. Since then, they have been under the light 24/7. I want to move them to an 18/6 schedule but I am not sure when to do it. If I do it too soon will they stretch?

When is the optimal, safe time to change the light schedule for seedlings?

Generally when the plants have developed 3-4 nodes IE 3-4 sets of branches.

just keep it at 24/0 the whole veg, some growers say they get 30% more growth over 18/6.

but if you do go to 18/6 just cut the light 1 hour per day until you get to 18, that wont stress the plant very much, it doesnt really matter when you switch because it is not that big of a change

as long as you have enough light stretching wont be a problem
