You can start now but I would wait until they are in the final pots to LST. Since I grow in DWC I start LST from where you are now but if you're going to be transplanting them soon I recommend you wait until you do so since they will be in that position for some time and you don't want to be tying and untying her as you move her from pot to pot. But yeah I would've already put that girl on her back :). As soon as her main stem get's a bit strong (you see it peeling sort of) you can start to LST, just be sure to place a counter tie at the base so you won't pull her out of the medium when you bend her over.

lsting is all new to me. i was gonna do the wire "u" hooks, is that a good method or caveman style?
That's a good method at first sure but as she grows your going to need something longer and more flexible and less heavy. I say no method is the wrong method, it's a personal preference really, what works for some may not work for others. You'll see that as she grows bigger hooks will not be as reliable as a string or something more malleable. I also have used wire used to create bonsai trees, this material is extremely flexible but still very strong. Check it out here http://www.amazon.com/Bonsai-Tree-Training-Wires-250-gram/dp/B00427MH26/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346104224&sr=8-1&keywords=bonsai+copper+wire (btw this material is lighter than any other option to LST). Give each option a shot and what ever you feel more comfortable using go with that. Create a relationship with your grow, I know it sounds cheesy or whatever but when you truly get in touch with your plant and what she likes and what you like and how you grow you'll find everything else get's easier.

Also remember that the point of LST is to allow more light to penetrate into the plant so don't be afraid to tie her all the way down and really open her up. Go bit by bit at first until you see what she can handle and what she can't; you can also bend her a bit today and bit more tomorrow so she get's used to it bit by bit. LST is about patience; if you don't have the time and patience you will never achieve good results using the LST technique.

Me too bro. With 400W and LST you can achieve a hefty harvest I guarantee. The best I've ever gotten was with Nirvana Ice in a Waterfarm form GH with a 400W cool tube and LST, got around 6 oz's plus like a zip of popcorn bud. I could have gotten more but I was in a hurry so I only vegged her for 4 weeks, I could have kept doing LST and vegged her for 2 more weeks and would have gotten plenty more I'm sure of it. Good luck and keep us posted if you can man.
