Being that it's that time of the year, thought I would start a thread about everyone's harvesting ritual. Outdoor grows end up with so much product I thought it'd be interesting to compare ways to handle it.
Whats your harvesting process?

1. I take my mature bud cutt all of the fan leaves down untill the immature bud
2. trim mature buds off at where it joins the main stem
3. leave all new veg and slightly immature buds
4. go to my trimming area trim those leaves off at the stem
5. Dry the buds by hanging them for 4-6 days 3 if sorta humid
6. after the 4-6 days I would then get rid of all of the stem so the people are happy and for my own preference you can remove when mulled
7. throw them in quart jars and leave them in for 5-6 hours then open them mix them around and air out the old air and the time until you burp them increases like 5-6 hours **MAKE SURE THEY ARE IN A COOL/DRY DARK AREA WITH ROOM HUMIDITY** the first time and then 10-14
leave it until desired cure level which should end up with sticky as hell buds man if done correctly. some people dont cure but its worth it. it apperently can increase potency idk I just do it for the taste

Chop at lowest point, hang, having humidity 45-55% until they dry out a little (about a week or so) then bump up humidity to 55-65% while keeping temps around 60-65 degree when possible. Then cut fan leaves off once they dry up, then section out into buds once dry and trim/jar. I am no expert by any means, but from what i've read the longer you can drag out the drying process the better.
Using this method my drying takes at least 14-35 days (depending on plant size) and so far is producing some of the best tasting smoke i've had in a lonngggg time. (Without a cure) No mold issues either.
Trimming is just a PITA when leaving fan leaves, but seems to make a difference for the better in the end product so worth it IMO.
