Lol - Lumatek , they are tried and true and have always been fail proof for me , the 1000 watt of course is not going to last as long as the 600 but I still use both combined !

I have a Quantum 1000w that has been working well for me. I bought Quantum because it seemed to me to be the best brand I could buy for the price. I paid around 170 US delivered.

Most digi ballasts are made in china by sz number and sold to companys who slap their logo on( ever wonder why most digis have the same caseing only the color changes) as far as im concerened solistek and hortilux are the only ones worth spending extra on. Otherwise by the green ones on ebay from canada that look like quantums

Apollo is cool. They are Lumatek ballasts with a different name the seller told me. I had one out of three die on me and I sent it back for a quick replacement located in CA. Cant beat a 3 year warranty.. The fans on their 600w is rather loud however.

Isn't lumatek made in China as well, I gotta say regardless of production locations, some higher quality items are manufactured in china simply because of the cheap labor involved, reality is chinese are not any more incapable of mass-producing then anyone else, I would agree though most cheap chinese based companies who are operating soley out of china and not exporting production for cheaper costs generally are junk compared to companies with reputation to uphold. Even if a unit is made in another country chances are in involves chinese products. Jordan basketball shoes make higher quality 300-400$ leather shoes and has facilities in China where workers are payed alot less then any american counterpart, same with iphones generally higher "quality" based on brand name, I don't know how realistically you can define quality without just finding bad/good experienced owners of different brands.

Chinese export for production is massive, GE (common in like every household), addidas, at&t, auto zone, walmart, crest, tide, Gillette, ford, gateway, HP, IBM, Intel, Lexmark, Logitech ect ect ect, list is un-ending.... its cheaper production; not all companies will sacrifice their own quality controls for Western consumer base, but I think its pretty clear when you find a piece that does, ofcourse China is notorious for fakes and cheap, but they do get knocked alot given the amount of higher quality products they produce without credit.
