600 watt HPS. 32 inches above seedlings
4x4 flood table w/ 40 gal reservoir
6 inch carbon filter
15 Lowryder #2 x AK47
6 inch rock wool
Flood table every 3 days once for 15 min.
PH 6
temp 87 to 88 degrees day
temp 72 to 74 at night
lights on 18/6
when i flood the table water at 69 degrees
no nutrients yet.

• may 1 sat - germinating
• may 2 sun - moved most to 1inch rockwool cubes under florescent / PH ing 6 inch rock wool buy soaking in correctly PH'd water.
• may 3 mon - roots coming out the bottom moved to big 6inch rockwool cubes under HPS
• may 4 tue - flooded table at 10 am. all sprouts under Hps but 1.
• may 5 wed – full day of light (looks great)
• may 6 thur – 4 leaves (looks great)
• may 7 fri – little droopy, rockwool still little most, took mylar covers off rockwool to evaperate some water. 9:30 pm Flooded table.

why are some of my seedlings a little droopy and others not?

hmm.. the temps are descently hot, maybe keep it between 80-85. try not to over water. stems are looking very thin so try putting a fan on them, not too hard tho. Don't flood and see what happens, maybe you're drowing them.

could high PH cause the leaves to curl under? and how do you flush the blocks if the PH is to high?

What are you keeping your pH at? I'm hoping with that nice setup you have there you didn't skip getting a nice pH pen!

LOL.. the ph fluctuates. as high as 6.3 the last watering. the first watering was 5.4. only have flooded the table twice.

did you soke the rw with ph 5.5 water for at least a few hours before using.and rw is a inert medium wch mean it has zero nutes so if using ro water them you should use 1/8 strength nutes but be careful with the nutes.and if you are using tap water then you should get the purified water from the store or get a ro system ,good luck

you are exactly right.. i did ph them before i put the seedlings in but i did not give them any nutes. and that was the problem, I had to figure it out on my own. you are the first person besides me to figure that was the problem. thanks thoe.

at what point do you start adding nutes? im germing and they have just barely started to push up through the top of the rapid rooters. im thinking i should start giving them some nutes...

Temps are a bit too high. Cool it down to around 80* and it should remove the droop. Maybe lift the lights a bit to 40"? Seedlings don't need to be very close to a HPS. GIve them a chance to adjust to light and heat.

Fact is, your sprouts look just fine to me:leaf:

decrease the flood time 15 mins seems a bit much. brings temps down to 75-78f ph 58-63. water whn almost dry

well my mistake was not adding nutes fairly soon. i started in rockwool and thought i would a couple weeks before i added nutes but i was wrong. rockwool has no nutes in it unlike soil. thats why in soil you wate to give nutes cause the seedlings will get it from the soil.

rapid rooters are made from shredded bark, moss, ect. it has anough nutes to start the seed.you have to use low strenght nutes with rw cause its a inert medium wich means it has zero nutes at all

Your sprouts look fine to me. I would advise not to use nutes. I dont start using nutes until i have atleast 3 real branches then its at 1/4 strength and thats like 3 4 weeks from sprout. . . maybe longer.

what medium do you start your plants in?the reason humbolt14 needs nutes at low strength is because he's using rockwol and rw has zero nutes in it,unlike rapid rooters, dirt, ect. wich has small amounts of nutes in them that will start the plant off and thats why you dont use nutes right away with those mediums

I grow hydro and I use the real cheap starter cubes no plugs or anything. They dont have nutes in them either. They are like rockwool but the hydro shop dude was like just but these they are much cheaper and yes they were, like 10 bucks for 100 and they have worked fine with seeds and clones and this was a long time ago and i have been doing that every since. They say that using nutes on seedlings and when rooting is counter productive. My seedlings always look like crackheads when they first pop but thats because those are not the real leaves yet. Its only the inside of the seed. The real leaves will grow later then when you get a good 2 or 3 sets of real brances then add nutes. I know it sounds crazy but thats how it goes in my set up.

Dude just wait, when you get the real set of leaves you will be ok. I cant remember the name of the green that first comes out of the seed but i think it starts with a c or maybe its. . . (stoner blank)...lol. I aint just start doing this the other day! You need to search thru Roseman threads, he breaks it all down.
