whats up with my bud

my bud was nice and thick but now it looks like ther are small separate stems growing off the side and top , whats up with this shit?

Could be a couple of things or a combination of both.

Looks either like...obviously new bud growth. Or it could be that the buds are growing in a string, fluffy way due to either genetics or poor lighting. Or it could potentially be all 3. So tell me more about genetics...lighting...all the goods

well its bag seed and i have 14 or so cfls of varying wattage 2 inches or so away from the bud, i have cfls all the way around from the bottom to the top of the plant all 2 inches away and im not over watering so whats up?

dude, new growth. getting all upset for what, because your buds are getting bigger. stop being so paranoid, and for fucks sake, spend 10 bucks on some mylar. noisy wrinkly weak ass foil. plants look good though at least.

i'd rather have a huge alien monstrosity bud than an average one.

you could name it, cos it's from bagseed, come up with some insane name.

It sounds like just a combination of genetics and lighting. More sativa dominant straints will grow taller thinner buds that "stretch". Indica dominants grow shorter, fatter, denser buds.This "stretching" is also a common side effect of inadequate light source. Nothing will fatten up your buds like some HPS during flowering. MMmmm mmmmm good.

Either way your pot will probably look a little stringy in the end but at least it will be smokeable and it will get you stoned...assuming you let it ride the full flowering cycle =)

Ok after checking your gallery pictures I gotta say its definitely the lighting. See how far your little bud stems are growing away from the plant? And they have only got a minimal amount of hairs. Under more intense lighting conditions the buds grow like little puffy cotton balls right at the base of the leaf and the stalk, stretching much later after they have filled out and stacked up.

Your fluorescents are obviously getting the job done during veg, your plants look great.

i think lollipop was right cfl's dont have much penetration is it getting fluffier all over or in certain parts i would dangle a few cfl's lower then the rest so at diff hights so u can kinda mimic penetrating light

what are the total watts of the cfl's. and not the comparable wattage but actual wattage used? u use 14 cfl's? are they like avrg 23 watts each? or are you using like 65W or 100W ish each. because if it were 65W each that should be plenty of light. but yeah use some mylar and that may help keep some of those lumens.

It's just new bud growth. No problems. Now if you want to see some wierd bud look at the sage n sour in my journal....freaky.

same thing happened to one of my plants ... i went from hps to cfl to hps.. because i had inlaws staying in my home..when i switched to cfl they started growing exactly like yours ... now that i switched back to hps they are filling in again... PS.. one of my plants is in flush phase..will chop down next week... PEACE..

same thing happend to mind. AND ITS THE BEST BUDS IVE SMOKED. bud grew straight up main stalk and a bunch of tine branches grew that were just all bud
ive found that if u move the lil bud branches down or move them so that there not aiming straight up in the bud, they grow bigger and faster
just move it so the branches go straight out and not up, and watch it cauze they move and break easily
