I will call bullshit then. Where the fuck did I say fungus? I said the plant was to dense for the T5 to penetrate like the cob.

Call bullshit if you want but at least remember what I said or stop making shit up.
I like the idea of pots. I had something go threw my plants killing them and it was in the pots. A fungus or something not sure what it was. I had been reusing my coco for several years at that point with no issues. Well I lost $7200 in electric before I figured that out. Pulled the pots and used new coco and the problem was gone.

That would spread fast in one large bed and be harder to get rid off should you need to. Just like seperate flower rooms will help you prevent the loss of a entire crop pots are the same way. Another thing to think about is if you use a recirculating system. That will move things around pretty quick also so a drain to waste may be better.
That is your quote from this thread. You are so full of shit you can't remember the shit you say. I bumped the thread so you would remember.

An expert like you losing 7200 in electric before you could figure it out.

Lol.

Yes you are the only expert there is. I never claimed to be a expert but if you say so I guess it is true. And I knew about it but still dont know the cause. But since you already know that their were many many growers with this issue and no one has found out what caused it I dont feel so bad. Far better growers tjan I struggled with that issue far longer than I did. I simple culled the affected plants and moved on. Taking advice from some better growers than I.

But still I posted a response to this issue and how it relates to the die back in the other thread.

Two totally different issues and if you were honest you would say so. But Ki suspect you wont because yot are nothing but a troll.

I'm no expert. Never claimed to be. I'm smart enough to not lose 7200 on electric. I'm also smart enough to know the t5 didn't cause that.

Its cool though. I wont much the thread up anymore. I've shown you the fool that you are.

You havent shown shit except you are a troll. And losing 7200 and still coming out of it shows perseverance. If that is a big deal to you you are a chump. I would rather learn from that than claim stupidity like you. I am sure you are perfect in everything you do. Hell I bet you even walk on water.

And yet still the T5 does not penetrate as well as cobs.

Isnt it odd that you would block your profile page? Got something to hide I see. Could it be that you dont want people to know just what a shit grower you are? What are you afraid of?

Nah. Only an idiot loses 7 grand and thinks its ok. I have my profile locked to keep the rift raft out. Some people tend to carry these arguments over to profile pages. Notice how I didn't mess with you profile page? Some wont respect that.

My grow thread is in my signature. Anyone is welcome to look at it.

I've never claimed t5 to penetrate better. I claimed that t5 did not cause your problems then I find the thread where you killed them and lost 7 grand.

Anyone here that knows me knows I really don't troll much. I will call bullshit when I see it.

I've made mistakes and lost plants. I admit it and even documented it. I bought some new soil base that came in 4 cubic ft bales. 3 bales were good. The last bale something was wrong with it. It caused severe problems. Shit happens.

Look, I have no problem with you. Just man up and admit the t5 wasn't the problem.

Can you even show a finished plant?

I have just not on this site shown finished plants. I am only here for the LEDs period.

And I will state again that the T5 did not penetrate as well as the cobs. Do I have pictures no. Never intended to use them for any thing like proving my statement. My point has been and always will be that the T5 did not penetrate as well as the cobs.

Dont take my word I dont really care. The two issues you brought up are unrelated and that is my stance.

Over the years that I have been growing I have lost many plants. Some my mistakes some not. The $7200 that I lost I still have no idea what caused it and there are much better growers than me that dont either. I know what it looks like and dont care to figure out how to get rid of it. Just easier to clear the grow out and move on like I did. The reason I lost that much was that for me to carry a plant threw to harvest takes 4 to 7 months. So The loss was that and the fact I had to run so long with out anything. Basically starting my grow from scratch and running for months go grow the plants back to the size I flower at.

I will still stand on the fact that the bottoms died off when placed under T5 from LEDs.

We will just have to disagree.

And the seven grand I chalk up to a learning point that will only improve my grow. You can look t it as a failure I look at it as improving my grow abilities. Two different view points.

Maybe I will post up a picture of my grow tonight when lights come on. I dont keep pictures around after I have uploaded them.

My point was that t5 will grow 3-4 foot plants easy. That is if used from the start. I have thought about it and see it plausible it shed leaves after moving them to the t5, though I still think it was something else. It is common for a plant to shed leaves if not receiving enough light. My outdoor guerilla plants do it with the lower leaves. I have to grow them in thick areas to hide them. The lack of light makes them shed leaves not getting enough light.

If a person learns from thier mistake that is all that can be asked.

I grow five foot plants in another room with T5s. When they grow near the light the fill in more and the lowers die. I have added some T5 light to the walls to stop this. I am sorry if I gave the impression that T5s cant grow a tall plant. I was just trying to point out that the growth I get under cobs is much denser than the T5.

In fact to dense for my normal way of growing. I need more stretch to get them prepared for flower the way I grow. I tend to manipulate light types, intensity, position and spectrum to shape my plants. I am still learning how I can fit LEDs into this mix.

Once again sorry if I gave the impression that T5s cant grow a tall plant. I know it can I have done that. In veg that is never done it in flower.

No biggie.

I grow with t5 from start to finish. The ones I showed were around 3 ft and the one had a cola 18 inches or so and rock solid.

I use t5 because I prefer mixed spectrum weed. My experiments lead me to believe that mixed spectrum with uv produce stronger smoke.

I will be going with cobs at tax time when I got a few extra bucks laying around. At this point I think I will go with citizen cobs. I will still use a couple of t5 tubes with it.

My plans are to run the cobs off solar. Meanwell has dc-dc step up and down drivers.

Converting light into electricity and then back into light. Each step adds infrastructure costs and reduces efficiency.

Since you've had lots of time to plan this, there must be more than meets the eye here. I'm interested in your reasoning behind this approach vs merely using a greenhouse covered in translucent plastic?

theres a lot to be said for control of specturm, intensity, and photoperiod that is technically possible in a greenhouse but nothing is free. to get the same kind of controlled indoor environment you would need:
-supplemental lighting
-light deprivation, manual (labor intensive) or automated ($$)
-additional climate control (heating and cooling dependent on season)

pv system is a few bucks a watt, leds are under $2 a watt. super efficient leds save you money on your pv system. its now entirely possible to pay off an entire LED and PV system in one grow, and that PV will continue to return for you for 20 years. a match made in heaven if you ask me....

Greenhouse surely pays for itself, too. Plus, much more space per dollar spent and therefore potentially much greater returns.

Both sides have merit. It would be interesting to do some itemized cost analysis here.

I have multiple reasons.

I have a finished basement I would like to light during the day with solar. I want to put in batteries for backup of essential things like deep freezer and fridge. I want a small indoor garden that I can grow veggies in year round to.

With led lighting the loss wont be so bad since its dc to dc.

I've been looking at wind turbines to.

I know how that sounded but I didn't mean to use solar just for growing. I'm actually looking at spending 8-10k on it. Reduce my footprint.

I have not used UV yet. Just will not work in my current set up. I also want to try the far red LEDs as well. I dont believe that the cobs are the end all solution either. But I do see great things from my Cree cobs. I have not used the Citizen cobs yet so cant say anything good or bad about them.

I do think cobs have a place in the grow and the guy who was saying other wise is mistaken. Be they Cree Citizen or some other brand. Maybe not in every grow but in many grows. I dont know how everyone grows and every grow is different so not for everyone but for most LEDs have a place.

Having a lil running water on your property would go a long way towards solving these problems. But that's a fond wish for most lol

I see the big picture now and I think that's pretty cool. Do you plan to disconnect from the utility? If you can avoid it, I'd suggest you consider remaining hooked up and use THEM as your 'battery'. They'll give you an effective 100% efficiency, something no battery can match, and you needn't maintain any of your own infrastructure to take full advantage.

Consumer generated power is treated differently all across the country, so it would certainly be worthwhile to know what the situation is in your neck of the woods. I'm going to guess you've done at least some of this research already, which is why you're considering your own dual prong home generation and usage reduction strategy.

I look forward to hearing much more!
